Sounds delish. I make chocolate puddings like the ones you can buy. Break up a pack of choc muffins into either a large trifle type dish or individual serving dishes. I make my own choc blancmange and pour it over the cake and let it all set. Whip up double cream to top it and either grate chocolate over it or sprinkle a little cocoa powder on top through a tea strainer. This is always a favourite in our house.Green_hopeful said:I ‘invented’ banoffee pie in a sundae glass. Three chocolate hobnobs broken up in the bottom. Spoonful of toffee, two chopped up bananas, spoonful of whipped cream and broken flake on top. Served 7 in 100ml glasses. I named them banoffee sundaes. Delicious. We had them again the next day.9 -
Here's a trick from my hair guy....he claims that that expensive hair goop - wax etc - is really just perfumed petroleum jelly. And face it that's pretty cheap in comparison. I think in part he was trying to inspire me to do stuff to my hair as I don't go in for products.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I’ve a bob and my hair is fine so some days I don’t even brush it never mind expensive goops ha haa!"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. Does anyone have a trick for getting labels off jars?
I always soaked them in boiling water with a bit of wul in, then scratched the glue off with a scrubby sponge (which was then ruined). Does anyone do something easier/better?"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. White spirit, acetone (nail polish remover), cooking oil. Cooking oil is fine on glass and plastic, but be wary of using the spirits on plastics. IPA is also great at removing just about anything. Acetone removes spilt superglue too.

Just need to be careful about the surface applied to. Glass is fine - but acetone (in nail varnish remover) and plastic is not a good combination.DiamondLil said:YoungBlueEyes said:Does anyone have a trick for getting labels off jars?

@angela110660 - I would love your blancmange recipe. Is it wrong to be thinking about desserts before 10 in the morning? No man is worth crawling on this earth.

That's brilliant, thanks
I don't have white spirit but I have the other 2. By IPA do you mean the beer??
Actually that raises another question. Can you still get proper white spirit?"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. IMS has to be coloured because of the risk of poisoning - otherwise left around kids / alcoholics, its an accident waiting to happen. Had a Google and white spirit still appears to be white.YoungBlueEyes said:That's brilliant, thanks

This probably sounds funny, but the conversation on the chazzer thread made me realise that even though there is just lil ol' me, I would struggle to go back from an estate to a car with a smaller boot space. Originally bought as my (then) newborn niece cane with a lot of stuff, its seen me through a house move and countless trips to collect tall bookcase / other items of furniture, including sets of 6 chairs. It might look like a car for an OAP but I love it.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
