Slice them in halves, sprinkle with oil (from a jar of sun-dried toms, perhaps) and dried herbs, add garlic if you wish, then stick them in a tray cut side up at the bottom of the oven while you're roasting something else. (Nigella calls them 'moonblush' tomatoes, doing them overnight in the cooling oven, but mine cools too fast and it doesn't work.) Scrummy in sandwiches and salads, super-cheap if you get a couple of yellow stickered bags, and when you look at the price of Sunblush(TM) you get to feel smug at making your own.newlywed said:...
cherry tomatoes always seem to catch me out and swap from firm to squishy when I’m not checking.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

I mentioned to himself last night about the potato/over-salty thing. He said it was a golden oldie. Best thing to do is peel and halve a potato (or quarter it if it's a big'un), pop it into your stew and lift it out just before it's cooked. It'll take the salt out with it

Just discovered another one.I was sweeping off the rugs in my car - I wasn’t sure the mats were completely dry and I don’t want damp in my hoover so I thought I’d sweep it off first then hoover it all out.And I just carried on brushing. The seats, the inside of the doors, the outside of the doors, then all the outside. It’s like 90% of a wash, looks a lot better. So quick and easy, great if you’ve not got long to make your car look presentable. I hope this pic comes out alright and yous can see what I mean 🙂
I used the brush from a 99p dustpan+brush set. My husband would have a fit if I used a brush on the paint on the car.YoungBlueEyes said:Just discovered another one.I was sweeping off the rugs in my car - I wasn’t sure the mats were completely dry and I don’t want damp in my hoover so I thought I’d sweep it off first then hoover it all out.And I just carried on brushing. Seriously, did you not end up with scratch marks on your paintwork?YoungBlueEyes said:Aye himself would have a fit if I tried this on his car!No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
Nope no scratches, I wouldn't have put it on here if I had! It wasn't proper mucky though, just a light bit of small grain road dust etc, and I used a soft brush
