I have a whole host of long-term inactive accounts, and I've not had any issues (yet). Providing there is enough activity initially so that they can be added.
Are you suggesting that when reconnect, they no longer check whether there is any activities on the account?
I don't know whether or not they perform any checks when renewing connections. However, a long period of time with no activity doesn't seem to be a problem itself. A couple of my accounts had been dormant for 6+ months when I first added them, but had some activity before that.

A week or so ago I posted to say that I had just tried to add two new accounts (TSB, Nationwide) (as had vacant slots following bank switches) and after giving consent and going through truelayer and then back to the yougov website it said ‘something went wrong, try again or exit’. Same thing for both accounts. However, when I exited, both accounts were correctly showing with 92 days left.

    Two issues now:

    1. I have not received any points for these new accounts added, both had lots of transactions and been open 6 months or so.

    2. I have now had the same error message when trying to reconsent all my other accounts shortly after, however, again when exiting it showed that they all had in fact been reconsented with 92 days left. But this time after a few days these accounts all went back to ‘only x days’ remaining and hence reconsenting needed. So I tried again and same thing and now another few days later they have gone all to needing consent again with x now down to 5. Meanwhile the new accounts I added have remained consented (but still no points). I have not received any points for the reconsents either (though probably explained by the fact they keep ‘unconsenting’).

I’ve been through a couple of reconsenting cycles previously and never had any issues and always received the expected points. Anyone know what might be causing these issues and how to resolve? And if I need to get customer service to sort, what is the best way to communicate with them? Thks
  • The link for connecting Bank accounts has disappeared of the 'safe' page.
    Any idea what's happened?

I noticed that yesterday. I don't know but possibly for maintenance? I don't think anything's been communicated about it being withdrawn.

I have noticed odd things happening on this site lately, accounts due dates changing etc. Generally I've always had the points for reconsenting though I did one over the weekend which hasn't yet processed in terms of points.

I did once contact them and the reply took 7-10 days by which time I'd sorted the issue myself, though if I'm honest I have no idea what was causing them.

Try contacting them, if nothing else they'll have this on record....there is an e-mail address on the site.

The worst survey was the one about petrol stations asking general marketing questions that can not possibly be applicable to petrol stations. I ended up shouting at my phone 'I don't know if its engaging, inclusive or innovative, they just bloody sell fuel!'

Got the same email so that explains my issues above! Hopefully will now get the points for the new ones added and the other ones once I’ve reconsented tonight.
  • Yep, my missing points have been added.

There is a general survey (not Yougov) where you are asked similar questions about tonic drinks, dried fruit, coworking spaces........

Is it forward thinking? Er......its a tonic water!!!!
