Do you sit in the dark?

Well when I say the light its really only a candle ...0

I hate watching TV in the dark. I only have a lamp on which I can dim but there needs to be something or my eyes go funny. Plus there’s a higher chance of breaking my neck over the dog when I get up to make a cuppa.
And I have the curtains closed to try and keep more of the heat in.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -

Also depends where their reception room is... the front of our home will be dark most the time as its bedrooms and study etc... the lounge is at the rear of the property and with modest lights on whilst watching TV etc there is little bleed into the frontsevenhills said:When I am out walking my dog, during darkness, I notice that many houses are in darkness.
I assume that most people are at home, perhaps watching TV with very little lighting on.
I do turn lights off, when not in use, but I always watch the TV with the light on.3 -
Only when it gets dark around us as we're watching TV, and neither can be bothered to get up!! 😉How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1

Mrs sits in front room with a table lamp on (low brightness) I prefer to sit in the dark watching wither laptop or TV.
If you walked passed, you would never know a light is on anyway, due to blinds & curtains being closed.Life in the slow lane0 -
Maybe the advice to close curtains actually had an effect, and more have liners.
Just don't go back to CFL bulbs.
