I ended up doing two walks last weekend. One 10k on my own and a 2k with hubby and the boys. Am trying to find some more shorter routes so we can do them as a family, and will leave the longer routes to do alone.

The girl didn't get the job, but was called by the same business, different department and had an online interview today and was offered the job! So she is very happy and looking forward to replenishing her savings back up. It does mean she may have to give up the job back here, but she doesn't need to make a decision until June really. It's her birthday next week, so I have ordered a chocolate Fudge cake to be delivered with candles, so she has a birthday cake.

This week the smallest had a bit of an iffy tummy so had Tuesday off. Then it snowed on Wednesday so I rang him in sick again. The wierd one refused to get into the car, and I really don't like driving in the snow so we all had a snow day. Hubby was fuming that he still had to work 😆 my clients for that day were quite a way out in the sticks, definitely didn't want to drive those roads! But that means I will have lost money.

This weekend we have a final trip to town. Need to pay in some cash and need some new Slippers and a dressing gown. I have vouchers from Xmas so shouldn't cost anything. Also need to get hubby some passport pics done. His has expired and suddenly thought that if we need to he guarantor for the girls second Yr accommodation he will need id. So going to get that sorted next week. I have the money for a passport set aside as the boys has expired and planned to get his sorted first. So will just switch them around. All three boys passports have expired as we got them to go to Paris in 2018. I won't renew the small twos though, its doubtful we will go abroad with them, so will just sort them adult ones when they turn 18.

Otherwise we are just ticking along. Trying to spend less.

  • Hey @Drawingaline congratulations to your daughter, that is fantastic news on the job front.

My partner also needs his passport renewing too, but we've just booked the sky gardens and it now needs photo id aparently, so we'll get it sent off after the visit.

Trip to Town was a bit of a disaster! Passport pics went OK, all sorted. Went to m&s for Slippers and a dressing gown. Well there were no dressing gowns at all. Apparently I needed to be more organised and have been looking last August, because now it is all summer weight stuff. I may have commented on how its -2 at night and snowing, but let's get rid of all the warm clothes 🙄 was told to order online. But inhave vouchers to spend, and they are for our shopping centre not the actual shop so can't be used online. I went to look at the Slippers, but was so annoyed I ended up stropping out 😆

Then we went to wilk0 and I got a picture frame and then got into an argument with a woman in the queue who thought I had cut infront of her. She was so rude, it's a long story, but basically I hadn't, and immediately apologised when I thought I had, only to realise I hadn't. So by that point I was in such a foul mood I made everyone come home, didn't even go to the bookshop!

So I came home and read books for the rest of the weekend and got nothing done at all. Short walk with hubby on Sunday morning as neither of us slept well (bad mood lingered!) But did feel better for getting out.

Been spending as have been sorting the girls birthday gifts to be delivered to her at uni. It's going to be odd her not being here for her actual birthday. Made the boy send her some chocolates, he claimed poverty, but he earns about £600 a month, told him to suck it up and sort it. Which he did. Grumpily, can't think where he gets that from 😆

Passport for hubby ordered, old one popped into the post this afternoon. Stated up to 10weeks, but hoping it arrives back quickly. Have no travel booked, but the girl will need to try finding second year accommodation after Easter, and we will have to be guarantors, and he has no other id, so hopefully it's straight forward and gets back within a couple of weeks.

Have a new person working with me for the next few days, checking they are up to scratch.means I will be finishing early though, which is fab as we will get through the jobs quicker. Waiting for the boss to add more in though 😆

  • What a rude woman!
I think passports are pretty quick at the moment, my daughter's came in about 3 weeks.
Fingers crossed your boss doesn't cotton on and you get a chilled few days!

As I said before, it expired two years ago and we have no plans to actually travel. But he doesn't drive so has no other photo id, will need it to vote and as we will need to he guarantor for the girl when she does start looking for second year accommodation he needed it sorting really. Just glad I suddenly realised! Would have been annoying if we hadn't and then she struggled to sort out accommodation. (Which I am dreading her trying to do, student let's in London are apparently much harder to find than they used to be!)
