Thanks LWAP I knew you would appreciate sleek design lol. It arrived Saturday but I’ve not unpacked it the co2 is also here. It do think she’ll like it as she hates me drinking her pop and she’s forever trying to give it up. They’ve given me two flavour drops for free so that’s a good thing she can try them out.Done a whole square of knitting on my second now.Save £12k in 25 No 49

A quick spending update from me £29 on two doses of nematode for the garden delivered free now and in July. The slugs are really bad this year and if I want anything to survive it is the only option really as I know it works. After the lawn was cut yesterday you could really see how bad the edges looked so I cut a bit of them but need to do more. The bit I did looks really nice so worth doing.
Went and hit some golf balls last night it was quite nice DG did have a bit of a meltdown but quickly came round. I think we might be getting there.
Still no news on my suitcase it is 2 weeks today so feels like once we are past the 2 weeks hope is fading now.
Diet not going well DG wanted chocolate donuts from M&S but we did get some fab yellow stickers. Fresh tomato and basil sauce we use in our meatball wraps £1.20 for 2 tubs will make 25 wraps or I can use them in sauces now frozen in an ice cube tray. Also got a grain salad as Asda did not deliver one yesterday.
Gym tonight incl Aqua actually looking forward to that DG has also got personal trainer. Really wish we could get on track with the diet we meal plan and have snacks all lined up so no need really to buy more stuff.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Would it help if you had to log your food intake? You could use my fitness pal or chronometer or the like. If you knew you had to log it, it may make you stop and think a bit more?2

I find I make better choices when I log what I eat. Need to restart too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I was slightly better yesterday but then again not. We were ready to leave to go to the gym and I checked traffic it said 22 min so we rushed around and ended up leaving with about 18 min to spare. It should take 7 min but there is roadworks. Well after 20 min we still had 35min to go even with going a different route so we had to turn around as we would have missed combat and sitting that long in traffic to go .9 of a mile was just crazy. We went to Lidl and this is where the good bit came in as I did not buy any treats. Got the free pasta sauce so that was nice too.
I am going to combat in a minute (if traffic allow me currently 17 min) and then booked in for two classes tomorrow so will have to get up early to make up the time. Got potentially two new projects with work so will finally be busy again.
Handyman starts tomorrow but the cleaner is coming as well so going to ask if we he ok about starting upstairs in the small bedrooms as she does not need to go in there and then when she goes he can get on with things.

It might be worth looking at your macros. Given all the exercise you are doing are you getting enough protein?2

So hacked off I had to come and rant here. Left 40 min before my class (it is 2 miles) got stuck in the jam and did not move. I was still 17 min from the club when I turned around. That is 30 min to go 1 mile and we do not live in London. Just not worth trying to get to the rush hour classes. Tomorrow is a later on so should be ok.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Went to get the trolleys last night took 45 min to do the two miles again to the club to say I was fed up was an understatement. One part was missing on the order so only one of us will have a full kit now which is so annoying especially as we have paid for it. Still first world problem but we have waiting a long time.
No wins on PB this month I did take out £12K plus the lower payout would impact that but still sad
DG has the money ready to pay me so that will help as my interest free credit card only have £600 left on it and I had to stick £1K on my other card. I am going to make sure I save up for paying it all in full when the interest free period ends. It will be in a high interest savings account ready for when the time comes.
We have cancelled all gym sessions today just cannot face the traffic issue plus we have the cleaner and the painter both coming this morning plus I am on lots of calls. DG has been working since 4am she is behind and getting a bit stressed re some less than pleasant clients. She had a good rant with a ex workmate which I think really helped.
The painter/handyman has just turned up he is going to start in the spare bedrooms so he does not get the in the way of the cleaner. It is going to be difficult to have so many people here today but the cleaner does leave at 12noon which is quite good.
I did get influenced again last night by a save money type programme on Channel 4. It was a paint sprayer £50 and it can be used outdoors and indoors. I have fence panels to do and lots of clear preserve to put on the decking steps and trellis fence so it will save so much time. The shed could also do with a coat. I think it will be well worth it. We have all the paints just not got it done yet so that is not an extra cost at least.
Finally renewed by HRT prescription that is such a bargain at £19.80.
Hopefully this will be it for a while of expensive spending it is £5K I have spent on 2 holidays and 2 sets of flights plus golf membership and new bag and trolley. So holidays all paid for over this year which sounds a lot but 2 of them is going to see my family in Denmark and Christmas and Summer holiday time is more expensive so £200 for each flight where as you can get down to £100 outside those.

I have also put some weight on since hrt - but also less exercise so .. I do think we get used to eating what we went if we are tall and active but menopause resets our balance so how we have eaten /lived for years no longer keeps us at the same fat levels
i find when I actually track macros it makes a big difference as the focus is on getting enough protein in eg 40/40/20 split etc (protein carb fat)
I don’t have the discipline to track a lot but when I have in the past the results have been amazing allied with exercise - counting calories have never worked for me
also try to emphasise your sleep as that is part of your new balancing act for the next 50% of your life …
There are some upsides to menopause/pre menopause- female mature killer orca whales (😊!) become head of their herd - they are calmer, and more focused on the good of the herdDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
