Holidays are beacons sometimes aren't they. Looking forward to mine in a few weeks too - although I still need a solution for the cat.

Thanks Savingsholmes yes they really are something to look forward to and I love having some booked in advance. Hope you find a solution for the cat same you do not have friends who wish to cat sit mine prefers that to someone just popping in. I have never tried catteries but picked a friends cats up once and I did not like what I saw. I'm lucky to have my niece.

Weekend was lovely golf Friday and Sunday unfortunately the buggy died so we only did 9 holes but DG was starting to melt down and it was cold. Did not stay for a drink so that was money saving.

Saturday we did quite a few bits around the house which has actually made a nice difference. The trundle room is now complete with two rugs and the ink blown pictures are up. Looks nice and ready for visitors.

We also got a small hole drilled at the back of the apothecary so one of the draws can be used as a charging station. A shame to drill it but it was only small and you cannot see it.

Pool bar is decorated for Summer but there is still a lot of gardening to be done and some tidy of draws still.

I got my marketing out this morning and we have now got 2 customers from it in total not a lot but one has returned and one is a brand new one who still have a few questions so we shall see.

DG is buying an ice machine as we are both a bit fed up with buying ice now. I need some knitting needles for the short sleeved shirt but I am so tempted to just buy a big set of interchangeable ones as I keep needing to buy some. It is quite irritating and expensive.

I did look at knitting needles and thought it would make sense to buy the interchangeable ones which I did so I have enough for the pink shortsleeved top I am doing. Then I really want to start on the news sweater so I bought that kit too. I first saw this sweater in a knit shop when I was a student in Copenhagen but I did not think I was good enough to knit it back then. Now is the time and if I start now I can have two going at the same time and it is perfect for plane rides although Turkey is funny with it in security so I might just knit on the way back. You embroider the coloured bits it is only the black and white you knit but I just love it and you can make it yours by changing the headers.

Morning lots of work awaiting me from DG and our 2nd client from my marketing has paid so that is a win.

I got a bit of gardening done but no more stone shovelling I have to finish by the time we go on holiday it looks so ugly and there is still the one with mulch too out there. Not nice for the new neighbours who has front row view of this. I did also cut the grass on the back of the road where it does not realle grow so we will just use that for parking and access. The grass and weeds had grown a lot down by the fruit tress but I got it done even if the lawn mower really is a size too small for that. Handy to have the strimmer and also the blower for loose grass at the front. It is still too cold to get the tomatoes out so they are in the cold frame. I hope to get them out by the time we go on holiday into the self-watering boxes. I do have a timer that drip waters pots which I might set up to save some time. I have two outdoor taps so I am thinking if I get a pipe long enough I could rig the timer op from the front instead of the back one. I would need to buy some more connectors etc but not a big costly job. Would save time in the middle of summer too.

Really looking forward to my knitting arriving so I can get started on the pink top and the Art Sweater. I think it is good to have two projects on the go and the same time as the pink one is going to be really technical and the other one a lot easier.

I did place a Boots order for DG to pick up at the airport on her way back. It is quite large but I really hope it is ok. Mainly Slimfast, my shampoo and conditioner and hair mouse plus deodorants you cannot get here. £100 but good savings and I got £15 off with a code so that was nice.

That's it I best get on.

Thanks ladybird1106 it is just so iconic even after all these years (it was released in 1990). I got my knitting needles in the post this morning so I can now get on with this little number if anyone wants to have a peak.

I am knitting it in a very pale pink its so pretty but also going to be a pain to do I just know it as its hard to unravel mohair.

Golf was lovely last night it was warm and there was 12 of us. I also managed to get a lift for BH Monday so I can play in the comp which was lovely. I played to my hcp and drumroll DG played 3 better than her HCP so she was finally happy even if we putted quite badly.

I got quite a lot of work done yesterday but there is more today the second marketing client has agreed but Dg forgot to send her the payment details out. She is a tad stressed with her trip to the UK next week and also going on holiday.

Just had a call from the contractor who filled in my ditch if he changes the wording you can get tax relief on it as it is drainage which is well nice. He also said he could sow the grass which is only about 1 hours work and he will add it to the bill. That will save us hours of work and it will be nice and level ready to enjoy. That was a handy phone call. Right need to crack on but have just been influenced for a lounge set we had been looking at Rattan but they just do not last long so thinking of metal instead.

Thanks beanielou I did start the other one yesterday and it was going so well until I made a mistake on the second proper round so now have to do some unpicking and redoing but it needs to be right from the start for the pattern luckily it is right at the end I have made the mistake.

I did work yesterday and it is so boring but it is my life now and I should be grateful for the clients. I have two bits I have to do today but a whole day to do it in. DG is going to the doctors for her smear so I need to go in case I have to translate but would rather not be in there otherwise. I am sure the GP will speak English but we shall see.

Still got ton to do in the garden but this weekend will be mainly golf and then my sister invited herself and family over for dinner on Saturday as they still have DGs present. Time just flies it is ages since we have seen them. I hope to do something simply like smoked ham (chicken for my niece) and new potatoes and asparagus as there are loads of honesty booths along the roads here where you can buy fresh veg. I will make chocolate ice-cream for dessert.

Order some more icecream tubs, a cheap arch for the wisteria and two fold down laundry baskets which we needed as the old one broke. One wash ready to start as cheap electricity at 11am.

Right that is it back to work.

Got the knitting sorted on the pink top but still nothing from the other order so I will chase it. Got a bit more gardening done but I am not going to do that many more paving stones now it is just too big a job and can be done next year. I just want the patio looking nice and then I can keep on top of the weeds.

I do need to arrange my boxes for the tomatoes and also get everything moved over to the cold frame. It will look so much neater once it is all gone. Might try and do that today.

We have pairs golf at 4pm and DG has been working since 5am and is now having a Danish lesson the first one in a long while so that is good. I have some more work to finish off and a client to chase but all good.

Social media posts are done for Monday and week after when we are in Turkey. I need some pictures but I think I will just do some nature ones it is hard to keep thinking of which ones to do. I might do the cats when we are away.

Just listening to a livestream of a man DG worked with and who made a big difference in her area of Law. He was only 65 when he died that is so sad yet another person gone too soon. I would not normally do this of someone I did not know that well but he really did make a big difference.

Just tidied up the patio and killed some more ants. I do not mind them in the garden but on the patio the stones really do suffer from them.

DG should be back soon then I would like some lunch.
