Thanks daisy_1571 I feel very calm about the decision we made yesterday and maybe it is not the right house for us after all. The other house has stunning views, no houses around it (the plots next door are not even for sale) and it has a double garage size building which is fully insulated, has got tons of storage and is heated by a heat pump. DG is already in love with it as a pool bar. It also has an energy rating of A+ because of the heat pumps which is brand new heat pump plus the air circulation system has been serviced unlike the other one so no cost for that in this one. The kitchen and bathrooms has cupboard like my mums house which is a better quality than the other house so maybe they have done us a favour. There is a bus right into the centre of the town we really like. It takes 30 min and does not run in the evenings but still an options we would not had had from the other house. It is 10 min drive but it was 5 min from the other house so not a big difference. Right now we have 10 min to the golf club and 12 min to a town that is deadly boring and we never go into.

Anyway viewing booked lets just hope it does not go quickly it is a probate sale and just come on the market.

Back to work and we had more crap about the restructure I am really hoping for redundancy now as the new roles do not interest me and as we are moving I could not do them anyway. I am holding out for some consultancy that would be cool and then I am working with DG. The plan for Easter is to have a golf lesson Friday then practise and visit a lovely golf shop. Saturday we have booked golf weather permitting but we will also spend some time in the spa and maybe eat up there if it is nice. Sunday we will work on the website so that can progress and then Monday we are meeting my friend from work at a nearby beach with their puppy so that will be fun.

Anyway onwards and upwards only 2 days to go until the break.

Just caught up and glad you made the decision not to be pressurised - it sounds the best you’re and being forced to crystallise your losses is expensive ..

    the new house looks lovely
well done on your golf win !
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks LadyWithAPlan yes the losses was that in part but I did also start looking at other houses which is when the one with the lake came up. The owner has passed away so it might mean they want to shift it quickly but it is expensive for the area so might not move that quickly. There is still a mortgage on the house which I assume the seller would still be paying for.

I had an email from our buyers adviser very late last night (Easter has already started in Denmark today) and she had had a conversation with the buyers of the other house and they had decided not to list the house but wait for me to view it and then cross their fingers I still want it and sign up for handing the money over and move in 1st October.

Well things have kind of changed DG does love that fully isolated and heated double garage room and I like the fact you can walk to a small supermarket and there is also a community run gym with some classes within walking distance. The other house did not have that it was a 5 min drive to a big shop (no smaller ones around). The view from the other house was of fields and a neighbours campervan but the other one has a lake. Anyway text from our buyers saying they are thinking of reducing the price of theirs to get things moving we have just said we are not listing ours as we know theirs will sell quicker than theirs so not to panic. Yes the other one had a panty but this one has a larger utility room which works better as a hall way as well. Also the name of the road it is in literally translated it is The Field of Happiness how nice is that for a road name.

In other non housing related news I opened the £100 S&S ISA from the MSE email and I have already got my £50 bonus so that was nice and easy. I invested my £100 in the physical gold fund just thought it was worth a punt.

Have a lovely Thursday last day before the long break I cannot wait.

Well done in not being pressured. It sounds like you like the sound of the other house anyway/as well do it would be good to see both. It's great you are looking at it as a learning opportunity for when you do go for it!
    Have a lovely Easter weekend!

Final quick MSE note the ISA I opened to get the £50 free investment from the MSE email had sent me an offer if I refer a friend we both get £100 reading the small print it does say up to £100 for the referer so I am not sure it is worth it. I will let you know if I do do it £100 each would be really good though. Today the plan is to work on our website this morning and then play golf this afternoon. Feels strange to be working on Easter Sunday but we also have Tuesday off to play golf so it is a nice long break anyway.
