Thanks daisy_1571 I feel very calm about the decision we made yesterday and maybe it is not the right house for us after all. The other house has stunning views, no houses around it (the plots next door are not even for sale) and it has a double garage size building which is fully insulated, has got tons of storage and is heated by a heat pump. DG is already in love with it as a pool bar. It also has an energy rating of A+ because of the heat pumps which is brand new heat pump plus the air circulation system has been serviced unlike the other one so no cost for that in this one. The kitchen and bathrooms has cupboard like my mums house which is a better quality than the other house so maybe they have done us a favour. There is a bus right into the centre of the town we really like. It takes 30 min and does not run in the evenings but still an options we would not had had from the other house. It is 10 min drive but it was 5 min from the other house so not a big difference. Right now we have 10 min to the golf club and 12 min to a town that is deadly boring and we never go into.
Anyway viewing booked lets just hope it does not go quickly it is a probate sale and just come on the market.
Back to work and we had more crap about the restructure I am really hoping for redundancy now as the new roles do not interest me and as we are moving I could not do them anyway. I am holding out for some consultancy that would be cool and then I am working with DG. The plan for Easter is to have a golf lesson Friday then practise and visit a lovely golf shop. Saturday we have booked golf weather permitting but we will also spend some time in the spa and maybe eat up there if it is nice. Sunday we will work on the website so that can progress and then Monday we are meeting my friend from work at a nearby beach with their puppy so that will be fun.
Anyway onwards and upwards only 2 days to go until the break.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Just caught up and glad you made the decision not to be pressurised - it sounds the best you’re and being forced to crystallise your losses is expensive ..
the new house looks lovely
well done on your golf win !DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks LadyWithAPlan yes the losses was that in part but I did also start looking at other houses which is when the one with the lake came up. The owner has passed away so it might mean they want to shift it quickly but it is expensive for the area so might not move that quickly. There is still a mortgage on the house which I assume the seller would still be paying for.
I had an email from our buyers adviser very late last night (Easter has already started in Denmark today) and she had had a conversation with the buyers of the other house and they had decided not to list the house but wait for me to view it and then cross their fingers I still want it and sign up for handing the money over and move in 1st October.
Well things have kind of changed DG does love that fully isolated and heated double garage room and I like the fact you can walk to a small supermarket and there is also a community run gym with some classes within walking distance. The other house did not have that it was a 5 min drive to a big shop (no smaller ones around). The view from the other house was of fields and a neighbours campervan but the other one has a lake. Anyway text from our buyers saying they are thinking of reducing the price of theirs to get things moving we have just said we are not listing ours as we know theirs will sell quicker than theirs so not to panic. Yes the other one had a panty but this one has a larger utility room which works better as a hall way as well. Also the name of the road it is in literally translated it is The Field of Happiness how nice is that for a road name.
In other non housing related news I opened the £100 S&S ISA from the MSE email and I have already got my £50 bonus so that was nice and easy. I invested my £100 in the physical gold fund just thought it was worth a punt.
Have a lovely Thursday last day before the long break I cannot wait.

Well done in not being pressured. It sounds like you like the sound of the other house anyway/as well do it would be good to see both. It's great you are looking at it as a learning opportunity for when you do go for it!Have a lovely Easter weekend!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k2

Morning happy Easter and thanks Earthgirl2 for popping in. Things have changed and I am very happy to report that as of yesterday: DRUMROLL YELLOW JUMPING EMOJEES
OUR BUYERS HAVE A BUYER AND THEY HAVE ACCEPTED THEIR OFFER
We are very relieved and it has just been a fantastic Easter so far.
Friday we went and did our lesson and our guru sorted us out straight away. We then went to hit balls at our favorite range and they were just going so so well. I bought DG a new club as an early birthday present so she can now stop using one she did not get on with and this one is so much easier to hit.
We had a great day out finished off by a meal in the local pub we have not been there since our civil ceremony. Food was on the other hand underwhelming compared to normal.
Yesterday we had a lie in as we stayed up watching telly late Friday. Then we had a healthy brunch and went to play 9 holes. There were some duff shots but it was all relaxed and DG said she actually had fun for the first time in ages on the golf course. We saw some friends and sat and had a chat with them before going to the chemist because DG is really not doing well on the 10ml dose of munjaro. That is when the text came in from our buyers that had a sale and suddenly it all feels like it is slotting together.
I called my mum and it so happened that my sister and everyone was over that and we had a nice chat. Well it was mainly me chatting about the house lol. I am going to email the Danish lawyers just to let her know our position and postpone the viewing for the original house so there is more time to see the Field of Happiness house. We have moved in and decorated everything already and I have big plans for the garden. Everything feels so different with this house and we worked out what had happened.
Dg felt she had to settle for that original house because I had said no to moving further away. She felt rushed to find something because time was moving on but talking it through we can now see that and we are so so grateful we did not sign. Annoyed that the lawyers in Denmark did not say about the fee for pulling out but we have learnt that process now. Every time we talk about the house it is about all the fun things we are going to do in it not just about how to put shelves in the pantry but about the parties we are going to have and the things we will do with friends coming over.
We can now move things forward in terms of getting the keys sooner and actually have time to paint possibly sand down the floors and obviously sort the electric in the new house. Yes I know things can go wrong with our buyers sale but it being first time buyers hopefully not. The new town is very small but there is a lot of community which is what I have really enjoyed here. So what if it is 12 min instead of 6 min to the middle of the big town? You still have to drive. Our ideal location will always be walking distance to town but we cant as we have cats. Plus we also want a garden that is not overlooked and large which even if you had lots of money is not possible so moving further out is not really an compromise due to the life there is in the town (well from my research).
So have a happy easter everyone and eat lots of chocolate. We got two eggs as a thank you from our new neighbours as we let them use our drive when we were out Friday which was really nice.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Final quick MSE note the ISA I opened to get the £50 free investment from the MSE email had sent me an offer if I refer a friend we both get £100 reading the small print it does say up to £100 for the referer so I am not sure it is worth it. I will let you know if I do do it £100 each would be really good though. Today the plan is to work on our website this morning and then play golf this afternoon. Feels strange to be working on Easter Sunday but we also have Tuesday off to play golf so it is a nice long break anyway.Save £12k in 25 No 49
