It's a different way of counting down! Surely the first was wanting new canvas shoes for holidays the other week, though? In which case this is the second pester and that means the holiday is twice as near! It's nice that you managed to find a copy for him: I'm always after one out-of-print book or another and some of them are elusive.Sun_Addict said:The first of the holiday pesters 😆I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. I'd forgotten about that one as he changed his mind 😆 Still another 3 weeks for him to build up his list.Cherryfudge said:

Just had our pet insurance renewal come through and it has jumped up in price now the dog is getting older (he's 8 this year). We might look at just putting money aside each month if it starts to get much more expensive.2

That happened to us last year. I looked at the excess and I'd only signed up to £50 so upped it to £150 and it shot back down again. Might be worth checking your excess.RelievedSheff said:Just had our pet insurance renewal come through and it has jumped up in price now the dog is getting older (he's 8 this year). Just remember if you do this you will need to get some form of third party insurance for him RS - it's something that vet insurance usually covers for dogs, I believe. You can however join the Dogs Trust for a relatively low amount per year - they have a membership that includes the third party insurance cover that is needed. (And for those who don't know, you don't need this cover for cats as they are considered to be "free spirits" so the owner is not held responsible for any mischief they may cause!)RelievedSheff said:Just had our pet insurance renewal come through and it has jumped up in price now the dog is getting older (he's 8 this year). We self insure and have Dog's Trust membership for the third party insurance. It's only around £25 a year so good value.EssexHebridean said:

Well done on the presentation going well.
Dogs Trust insurance sounds like remarkably good value. Thanks for mentioning it @jwil
Lets hope the holiday pesters are minimal! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Happy Good Friday 🙂
4 days off work 🥳 4 days with Mr SA 😞
Went to the big Mr T first thing for the cheap veg and other stuff. Disappointed they didn’t have the 15p onions and I could do with some. Might nip down again tomorrow as two huge delivery lorries pulled up as I left. The dog has been on the park twice. Once on the way back from Mr T then Mr SA took her over there this afternoon.Mr SA got up at 7am and went back to bed at 10.30. He got up an hour later then went back to bed after his lunch. He’s just had a shower and is back in bed. It’s a hard life.I gave the bathroom a really good clean and polished round in the living room. Lots of washing done and pegged out. Watered all the seeds/plants. It’s fair to say we will be awash with sugar snap peas and mangetout, they’ve gone mad!Weather has been one minute beautiful and sunny the next raining.Tonight’s dinner is Mediterranean cod bake. Exercise has been walking to/from the big Mr T, should finish up on around 15,000 steps.Mr SA’s holiday pester list so far:
Book ✔️
Plimsolls (instead of canvas shoes)
Necklace (to be bought on holiday)
He has also requested a trip to Primani for a pre holiday shop. Reminded him he had a load of new shorts and T-shirts from MnS for the September holiday last year that were washed and put straight back in his case 😐I’m going to get the cases out this weekend to show him what’s in there. Also need to check the holiday toiletries to see if we need anything.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
