Happy new diary.
If it is any consolation I'm still wading through emails as well.4 -
Subscribed - I don't post often but I read your diary with great interest, I really admire your determination and the sense of humour that you manage to maintain; your life with Mr SA is not easy.

I went to have a nosey at your previous diaries and the links just jump back onto this one.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Happy new year!
Your previous diary was so long I was a bit overwhelmed, I feel like I have to start at the beginning or not read at all. 😅 But I dipped in and out and seen your comments in other threads as well. I have bookmarked this one and will try to keep up.01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

Lovely to see my regulars and some new visitors 😊
So far today I've checked the finances and paid off the cc balance. I also looked at my outstanding balances:
Mortgage £10,596.97
Additional borrowing part of mortgage £1990.10
Windows/door £2010.34
I've overpaid the additional borrowing by £1600 so far. This has brought the term down by a year. I only realised this morning that it will be gone completely in 8 months which was a lovely surprise. The £100 a month overpayment will then be moved to the mortgage. The windows/door loan is 0% and will be gone in a year's time.
In other money news I've cashed out another £10.50 from Qmee so that's £30.50 I've earned with them in just a few weeks. I've also moved an oddment into the Christmas 2023 pot so that now holds £75.90.
I'm going to join a couple of challenges I think, looking at the 1p a day savings one and the emergency fund one. I need to get my emergency fund back up to what it was.
I'm also saving the £125 maximum into my Principality Regular Saver and I have a Regular Saver with the Coventry that you can put a maximum of £500 a month in. I doubt very much I'll hit £500 every month but will send as much as I can.
I have some smaller sinking fund pots for holidays/house and general spends then the 4 weekly budget pots. Everything is tracked to the last penny on my spreadsheet with lots of tabs so I always know where I am.
Of course I won't have as much to play around with once the utility bills go up again but even small amounts add up.
I don't tend to plan too far ahead as I am a prime example of you never know what's around the corner, I tend to live on a month by month basis.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)11 -
