Fab pad today due to a survey cashout

Today I am GOING to book my leave!  I want to see if I can get a couple of days to myself as well as Christmas hols.

Kids have dentist today with the new dentist.  Little miss is free as she's not yet 8 so that's a small bonus.

We've got 7 items sold, one is a fairly large item, so it's good to see it gone.

    Have a good day everyone.

I've finally booked my leave and to my delight had more than I realised left.  My calendar is already pretty booked up so I couldn't get a full week which I would have liked, but I've got two weeks with two days off, two weeks at Christmas and that leaves me a couple of days to use in January as well.

Dentist went well and both kids are all fine.  I've booked us all in for May half term.

Booked a tyre fitting for my car to deal with the one that had the advisory at MOT.  That's at the weekend.

My M&S parcel arrived today, so I shall unpack my lighted tins later.

I feel like I'm brewing a cold.  I could do with it holding off for a couple of days ideally so I can go into the office tomorrow.  If it appears overnight though, I won't spread the love and will stay home.  In all honesty I'd rather stay home but booked the office days off, so I'd better show my face really.

Cashed out over £10 on PA today so another nice PAD due tomorrow :)

    Well done on the PADs.

    Congrats on doubling your AVCs.

Hope that you survive this round of cuts at work. It's a difficult time nationally currently.

Hope all ok with you .
    Thank you :)

I'm still lurking around, just struggling a lot with anxiety and mental health.  I haven't been feeling well at all, so just taking some time out to work on me.  I've been working through the couple of books I bought last time things were bad and it's starting to help. I've had a couple of days off which has been nice, and another couple next week.

Work is challenging and there's a lot going on.  I've been asked to get involved in some really important stuff though, so although it's extremely pressured, I'm hoping it will keep my 'value' high and let me avoid this round of cuts.  It's more important at the moment as DH's employer is also cutting, so we don't know where he stands.  It would be awful if we both got made redundant at the same time.

I've finished my Christmas shopping and that's actually quite a relief.  I've continued with my PADs daily so will update the totals soon.  We sold a nice pile of stuff at the weekend so that was good.

Sounds like you have established all the right habits with money and decluttering - even if other aspects of life feel out of control. Good that you are involved in higher profile work - hope it all works out positively for you both.

Tricky times in my organisation too - but I'm expecting to be 'safe' but no-one ever truly knows. But I think there is a big demand for my kind of skills so doubt there will be an issue for me just yet.

Thank you.  I'm sorry things are tricky where you are too.  Fingers crossed!

  • Hope the job situation works out for you both. That's probably causing a lot of underlying anxiety as you don't know where you stand, as well as the high pressure work you are doing. Try and make sure you keep some you time as well x

Thank you :)  I've had some days off this week and have done absolutely nothing,  I think that's helped a little!
