Thank you. I've got one, just underestimated it so I need to work it out so it's more realistic next year.satchmo1 said:It could be worthwhile having a saving pot for school uniform/requirements, as they will sadly be an ongoing expense.
Well done on the mile loop, especially with the gradients. After a few weeks, try increasing your speed for the uphill section, swinging your arms vigorously.
I've got my c25k app which I am not running, but is a good reminder to speed up in the running sections, but I shall add some arm swings, thank you

I shall take your advice on the declutteringEssexHebridean said:The volcano definitely sounds like decluttering to me - and decluttering that you get some entertainment from, too - winner!
I can also identify with the "new kitchen bin feeling" - we had a new one when we got the kitchen done - paid a little more for it than we might have ordinarily done (albeit not to the level of some of the so-called "designer" brand ones - designer bins, who knew?!) and absolutely love it - it still looks great now and will fit in perfectly in the new kitchen as well I think.
Great stuff with the walking. I'm with you on being quite happy to walk with something to listen to - have you caught up with the fact that there is a Martin Lewis Podcast? It's on BBC Sounds!
I couldn't believe how much some of the bins are! This one seems to be nice enough. It's funny how the small things make a difference.
I didn't know there was a ML podcast, thank you, I'll have a look."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -

At a guess the clothes and shoes have jumped due to inflation but also will have jumped in price as you are in the next age bracket. Pants isn't it. Excuse the pun ! And well done for having some.money set aside in the first place . Hope the weather stays kind for your walksjwil said:

I think it's more the quantity I got rather than anything else. I bought more than I had planned, partly because of little jwil's residential, but also when thinking about making it last the whole year. I also added non-school clothes and that wasn't planned at this stage.NeverendingDMP said:

Back to work tomorrow, but only for 2 days then I'm off until after the bank holiday!
I've done my walk this morning again, so I'm pleased with that.
The kids have decided they want to go swimming today, so that's our plan for the day. I'm looking forward to a swim myself. We are going to a different pool which is deeper than the one they are used to so that will be interesting.
I sent £25 to PBs this morning as well.
Have a good day everyone!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -

It does help, I feel like I've had a proper workout today! "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
We had a nice time swimming today and once again I was reminded how much I enjoy it. There was an aqua aerobics class on after us, which prompted me to check whether I could book onto it again, unfortunately they are all fully booked and impossible to get onto. I used to go before Covid and loved it. I might have a look at the timetables again when the kids go back to school and see whether swimming is possible on a Friday. I'm sure I looked before and the timings didn't work due to lessons and lane swimming but I'll have another look."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
