I thought I was going to have a nice productive day today, and finish earlier due to not having to do the school runs. No such luck! Lots of stuff coming in at me from all directions. I did finally make some progress on something I've been chasing for ages though so that was good.
I'm now going to have to go into the office on Thursday which is quite annoying, and I've had to sort childcare for that.
I did have a chat with my line manager about the potential department move and they knew nothing about it and so were going to try and find out more. A colleague who is also affected talked with someone else, and was told that it might not mean a move into a new department, but a bit of a reshuffle of managers within the current team. So I'm currently none the wiser. There is a wider department briefing tomorrow, so maybe some answers will come forward there.
The highlight of my day was connecting with another MSE-r in real life and having a brief chat with them. It's always nice to get to know the people behind the usernames
I've got quite a lot pending in PA, I'm wishing they'd authorise it so that I can do another decent PAD. £2 seems quite paltry these days"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -

Me too. I didn't sleep last night with stuff running around my brain."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Another packed day of meetings but hopefully some answers too!
I've logged on this morning to find a very nice response from someone who I was essentially saying we couldn't help, but I did suggest some alternative solutions so that was nice to see.
It's meant to be dry today so I've got all the bedding in the wash so I can get it out on the line.
Kids haven't realised the concept of a lie in and were both up early this morning again. We're almost at the stage where I go to bed before them and get up after them
Have a good day everyone"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

It's such a huge thing not feeling like I've got loads to try and do. I feel I can actually enjoy the holidays, and just do little bits here and there."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Another very hectic day today, but a meeting has been cancelled for tomorrow so that frees up some time.
We had the meeting today and although I asked my question, I didn't really get a clear answer unfortunately so none the wiser. I did find out that VR will only be offered to those at risk so it's not going to be a wider offering. I've picked up all my toys and put them back in the pram for nowand will sit and see how things progress.
I was also in a work pensions webinar today and managed to get answers to a couple of questions so that has both reassured me that I'm on track, and also given me some stuff to think about in terms of tweaking my plans.
I can't remember who mentioned it, but I've downloaded a retirement countdown onto my phone
I know I'm obsessing about retirement at the moment, but I am still equally focussed on work, I'm not spending the next 10 years drifting, it will drag like anything (and of course, I'd likely get fired!). Even if I choose not to retire when I get there, it's the point at which I hope I will have the freedom to choose what I do, whether that is stay, go part time, do something else entirely, or of course, retire totally."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
