Some coloured things date really quickly.  When I bought here 30 yrs ago the bathroom suite was brown.  Talk about strip everything out & start again.  The fact that it was filthy did not help.

Oh we had a brown suite in one of the houses we moved into when I was young.  Just why???  DH and I had a grey suite in our last house, and that was 90s built.  I just can't wait for a white one!

My first was an avacado green one, with complimentary fancy patterned green tiles. I was lucky enough to get a matching kitchen too 🤭

That sounds delightful :D  Did they carry on the green theme through the rest of the house as well?

No, but they did love a very swirly peaked plaster …all ceilings, kitchen and hall walls. It was a nightmare to paint. The living room had plaster mouldings at either side of the fireplace …the kind you could sit a nice effigy on 🤣 They were the first things that got pulled off … it did have a really wonderful fireplace though, I’ve missed it ever since I moved.

I had the avacado bathroom suite in the first flat that I ever bought. I hated it from the minute that I set eyes on it. Every house that I've ever owned has had a white bath since then...

I used to work in a surveyors and typed up the home buyers reports. I always remember the comment “tired old avocado suite” 🤣 My current house had one when we first moved in, soon changed it to white.

Bathroom ideas sound exciting..I'm afraid I'm just gonna be really rude though and pinch your thread to ask beanielou what wet wall is.
We have a dodgy bathroom and when the lottery win comes in I'd like to replace it and have the wall panels not tiles. I may be sneaking a few ideas from your thread xx
Wet wall is the panels  :)
