So new targets are afoot. Posting here really does focus me on goals and saving.Lots of house reno is needed and we knew that when we bought the house. First up is an extension at the back of the house. We have downsized hugely but we knew it had the potential for extension so we reckon we will need about £20k to do the extension and pay for associated works - plumbing, electrics and a new kitchen.Progress so far: we already had a sum of money I was saving to pay off against the remortgage if the house move didn’t happen. So that plus what we have left over from the house sale is currently £17,042 / £20,000 - that’s in premium bonds in the interim. So everything I manage to earn and save will be going directly towards this sum. Builder is due in the next few weeks so I’m really hoping the quote comes in around what we are expecting.
It’s the first of the month so I’m back to tracking again. Tricky to know what we can save at the minute as bills are unknown but I’m aiming to hit 20k by the end of the year for sure!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Sounds great! I had my first-ever new kitchen in 2019, and I'm still thrilled with it.2023: the year I get to buy a car2

So meter reading input yesterday to make sure the lower price takes effect. It’s strange having gas and electric here. I keep thinking we are being super good with electric usage and then remember the gas one! 🤦🏻♀️
£19.74 in from prolific. Snagged a video survey with them today that got me £15.Made a few calls today about solar and a new heating system and should have some movement on that mid October.Feel like the out of control spending has come to an end that you always get when moving. Light bulbs, a random plug socket, a curtain pole, takeaways because nothing is unpacked etc etc. so feeling more on top of the money.Council tax is half the amount here due to changing bands and also having effectively overpaid for the first half of the year so some money instantly saved there.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Sounding good - those initial random spends are inevitable, aren't they. And a £15 survey from P sounds fantastic! Just what I want to hear2023: the year I get to buy a car4

£2.50 cashed out on nectar and left in fleabay account to use at some point. I haven’t been overly buying to get their bonus points on the fruit and veg challenge and didn’t think I’d even get to the first voucher but suddenly three onions and a pack of oranges seemed to gain me 24 portions yesterday so now I’m eying up the second voucher. Might just get all my fruit and veg there this week to see if I can get at least the next one.Sold two things on fleabay but one is DSs so he gets the pennies. My item was about £6. All adds up!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
