Solar panels now in and now I need to move the electricity supplier to ensure we get the best deal but also the best buy back rate - leaning towards Octopus at the moment. Was all geared up today to run the tumble over lunch and then out the heating off after to realise I didn’t click on, on the tumble so now the tumble and the heating are on together.Windows deposit paid. They should be in end January time.Opened up a chase account this week to try and max cashback on spending. Currently using Amex to get nectar points but don’t want to pay the annual fee after the first year so also opened up a regular Sainsbury’s cc. Need to weigh up chase v nectar to see what gives us the most.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Managed to snag a Uswitch session last night and got dinner done before 5. Ran the heating for a couple of hours beforehand as usual and then turned everything off except the TV and a light. Got the £10 bonus for joining a session in December and I’m waiting to see what we got for how much we saved. It was late notice of the session but it wasn’t tricky to do.Up to £84.56 pennies earned so far this month. Just decided what all the free money earned will go towards next year, mostly the house reno pot with some for Christmas and something for me that I’m saving towards.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Should probably add as well that extension quotes are all in and we’ve decided not to proceed with it. Having lived in the house for a few months, we have found another way to achieve what we want to do without extending. It’s a downsize but all of us are finding the smaller living space nicer and cosier so we are going to flip some rooms about and have an open plan living space created. Upside of this is that we have the pennies to do it already which has meant rather than replacing the windows bit by bit, we can get them all done in one go. Meant we got a slightly cheaper quote on those as well.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Great news on the house plans, lovely that you're enjoying being cosy. I had an offer of a saving session from Eon yesterday, but with the email coming out at 2.00pm offering a slot between 5.00pm-6.00pm, it wasn't very helpful that I didn't see the email until 6.30pm 🤦♀️!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days

Energy switch done and we started with new supplier today. Another Uswitch session done tonight. Still waiting with baited breath to see how much we save. Can’t understand how they calculate the savings.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Has anyone found an app that is good for tracking solar input?
Our old smart meter display was awesome but the current one in new house is rubbish and I doubt electric company will supply another. It just shows 0 when the solar is generating but previous one would show -56p or -£1.13 so I got a measure of just how much we were generating and when to go crazy with the electric.

Used £2.79 from a local garden centre loyalty card this week towards a pair of slipped socks for DD. Still waiting for new electricity supplier to connect to our smart meter. Hoping it doesn’t work and they have to install a new one. Might get a better display!
Finally finished wrapping gifts so just the food shop to go now and it’s mainly fresh stuff. So ready to stop, chill and enjoy the festivities now.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
