  • Lovely festive few days here but quiet. Started to de Christmas the house a but today but will get it done over a few days. I don’t like having them up until Jan and would like to enjoy the weekend without having to take stuff down.

Haven’t gone crazy on the food or gifts and kids have had a good time.  I’ve managed to sit down with my book for a few mins.

Picked up a few survey payouts just pre Christmas and so earnings are £204.46 for December. Massively helped by the you gov payout. Kids got Amazon vouchers for Christmas which they won’t use so I’ve changed them and given they the money which means I hit my target for the item I was saving for of £219. Got there in a slightly crooked way though.

All Amazon vouchers earned will now be stashed for birthdays / Christmas next year.

Batteries are in the master plan at some point but not sure that Agile would work for us right now.

  • Proper spendy afternoon buying new internal doors, handles and fittings for the house. Also starting to do our first room redecoration so ordered new bedroom furniture, plug sockets, light switches etc. Off to order the carpet next week which will give us a deadline by which to get the decorating done.

Christmas stuff all done and stashed in the attic for another year. Took DS to spend some Christmas money today so he’s all happy. Looking forward to a night on the sofa now.

  • £50 referral cash in for changing energy suppliers. Just trying to get the solar panels registered now to start earning from the feed in tariff.

Lots of surveys around and all nearing payout so hopefully should see some earning next week.

Starting to hear up for next stage of house reno which is new windows throughout. Also involves almost every room changing its current use except the bathrooms.

We got it too, also for first time. Think it has something to do with the construction method- i.e solid brick that can't have cavity wall insulation, suspended wooden floors that can't do underfloor heating, slate roof  with cold loft but has insulation roll.  The houses old enough to need airflow to stop Rot and condensation issues.
