Hi Chums well I am still sitting at home waiting for the recall to hospital for the procedure. I'm still attched to a drain which is a nuisance and cannot drive or go out anywhere, in case of catching an infection.
My two DDs and my granddaughters have been very good and get me any shopping I need, although its been very little to be honest as my appetite is quite small at the moment.
The eldest granddaughter brought me a plate of sandwiches yesterday, and Monday as she had been on a course locally and the caterer said they would only go to waste. Katie's said No my Nanna would perhaps like a couple .
They were very nice and came with a small salad and some chopped fruit .So Monday and Tuesday nights tea was taken care of
Katies is definitely a chip off the old block as she hate waste of any kind.
Luckily before Christmas I had stocked my cupboards and freezer up in case of bad weather in Jan/Feb so I have lots of stuff at home. I think my shoping bill for January was under £10.00, but then I was in hospital for three and a half of the weeks and came home with a good few bottle of Ensure to drink.
The SMART nurse come in daily to check my obs and bandages for the drain and they are lovely lasses, very hard working ,but always cheerful. I am literally waiting for a theatre slot so just have to be a patient patientIt will come eventually .With the weather not being very nice its no toomuch of a problem staying indoors but If I want fresh air i just have to walk up and down the garden a few times
I shall survive and look forward to being mobile asap.
Thanks for all your good wishes and I will let you know in due course how things are progressing
Cheers Chums

Just de-lurking to add in my best wishes but also just to say what a lovely lovely family you all sound - it's been really shining out from your posts.
Also, my late mum had something similar to you with the SMART for her recurrent sepsis and it made such a difference to her being at home, I know you're bearing being confined to home with good grace but imagine if you'd been stuck in hospital all this time. And so much cheaper for the NHS too.
Here's hoping your slot comes up soon and you are back on the mend:eek::eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20178 -
Hi Jackie, so nice to hear you are still keeping going onwards and upwards. You are better off at home today if the weather is anything like here, OK in shelter, but bitterly cold wind, must be blowing straight down from Scotland, and further northern parts!
February today, and a local knitted is getting us in the mood, by decorating the big post box in town with a topper with two teddy bears, exchanging hearts and flowers, so romantic and making us smile.
Just doing a mealplan and adding your lovely s/c rice pudding, so will be getting on with that soon. Keep cheerful xx6 -
How are you doing Jackie? Haven't seen you posting for a while. Hope everything is OK?"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I was thinking that .
Really hope the silence means ,you’ve had your op

Good Morning chums, no, still waiting and being a 'virtual' patient .The nurses come to see me to change the dressings and they have been lovely ,but there is a backlog of patients at the moment so its a waiting game for now.
Yesterday was my birthday and I got thoroughly spoiled by my family and friends I am such a lucky lady, and didn't realise how many folk remembered bless them.
Both my DD's visited, also my youngest DGD and tomorrow my eldest DGD is coming, she was coming today but had a bit of an upset tummy, and didn't want to pass it on to me. DGS Jack sent me a lovely bunch of flowers and all the boys got in touch.
My eldest DGS Danny in New York Facetimed me ,and we had a nice chat along with his wife Hayley.
I have started to knit a baby blanket for their new arrival in July, she will be my third great granddaughter.and will be called Daisy.
Its a bit of a big project as its 175 stitches per row, and its knitted in one piece.I worked it out but the time I have finied it I will have knitted about 63K stitches in a pattern with has stars and unicorns on it.
I manage around ten rows a day then my arms start to ache. But its slowly growing like the little baby.
I think they will be pleased as when my DD and son-in-law go out in September to see them all, it will be in time for the Fall so will keep her cosy.
it keeps me busy and I can listen to the wireless at the same time or watch tv. so multi-tasking.
Nurses are hoping for maybe about a couple more weeks then I should be called back in, so I shall keep on knitting in the meantime.
One DD gets any shopping I need, and the other one does any washing for me.They have been brilliant, and everyone has rallied round so I just have to be paitient, but I am looking forward to getting the drain removed as its a bit like a ball and chain at the moment
but its doing the job until they manage to unblock the bile duct.
If that doesdn't work, then it will be a gall bladder removal, but they are hoping not to have to do that as I have a slight problem with my heart and they would rather not give me a general anaesthetic as the older you are the less they like doing it.. So fingers crossed the procedure they want to do wll work Ok.
Eldest DD is due to go out to see DGS and wife next month in NYC and she is fretting I will be called in while she's out there, but as I said where ever she is her sister will let her know anything .The world is such a small place today with the internet thank goodness.
So don't fret chums I'm still around, and alive and kicking.
NRA has been messaging me bless her and she's been great so I can always tell her, and she will pass on any news.
I hope everyone is coping Ok, and getting through the looong winter. It will soon be over, and the daffs will be out and spring will be here again.
I am looking forward to going to my local park to see the ducks and their babies with my DGGD's once this is over and done with.We have a park not far away called Capstone, and there is a lovey lake there ,with a handy tea room right by the side for a cuppa ,or for the children an ice cream. Some lovely walks around the lake and lots of wildlife. Hopefully in a few weeks I will be there watching the Mumma ducks and their little ones as I did last year.
Right, time for a cuppa, thank goodness I bought a huge bag of tea bags before Christmas as I swear I have tea and not blood in my veins at the moment
Take care everyone and stay safe

Belated birthday wishes JackieO, good to hear you got spoiled rotten! It'll not be long 'til you're out round the park again - and on the bright side this temp delay means it'll probably be warmer weather when you do get out againI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.6

Happy Birthday Jackie, great to hear your lovely family are spoiling you.
Hopefully not long until you can check on those ducks!6
