I have two containers which I use for saving change - like you're planning I have one for £2; £1 & 50p and another for everything else.  The small change gets paid into my Metro bank account whenever I get to a branch which is only about 3 or 4 times a year, might only be £10 or £12 but every little helps.  The other jar is for paying for my hairdresser every 6 weeks and DH takes £4 now and again to pay for his golf competitions.

Definitely get those catalogue debts sorted out as well and then you can really get saving.

Aw thanks for following along! Well my plan is if I meal plan all the money I’d spend on a meal deal which as it stands so far was £13.60 a week I’ll put into the money jars! 

Yep catalogues are my next attack after the £295 is paid.

Trying to keep myself on a meal plan for work lunches to will post my work lunch daily aswell as trying to drink my water and eat more fruit! 

I have this for tomorrows lunch and Wednesday lunch!

Hey! Spotted your diary as I was having a browse and your comment about recognising debt but not really taking accountability (was it a real lightbulb moment) really made me chuckle, I think I have had about 15 lightbulb moments, started a diary, done a SOA and then just let life get in the way again, took me ages to finally figure out how to behave like an adult with money and am only just now out of debt (I have a loan tied into a mortgage but that's it) 
I'll be keen to see how your year goes after that hard slog, sounds like you've done a great job!

Happy New Year Jade! WOW get that debt amount, well done. You have achieved so much the past year in terms of debt payment and overall mindset around money. Here is to debt freedom! - it sounds like you have settled well in the new job.

Thank you! I only just realised you asked me a question, but yes I plan on keeping my diary open and running as I want to stick around and complete some of the challenges on here

Morning all! 

So, I gave myself a kick up the bum last night and decided to meal plan so I have decent work lunches for the next two days. As I also don't start work until 10am for the next two days I told myself I have to eat breakfast and get up and walk the dogs. So, for breakfast I got blueberries, yogurt and banana with a coffee. The weather isn't all that great out there today so I'm going to put joggers on and change into work clothes when I get back in. Today is the day I start my new role as Customer Service Supervisor. (I've been doing it for the last two months)

Morning J - and it really does sound like a happy new year for you - new job role, the van saving you money, and so nearly being debt free as well - brilliant stuff!
