There's no guarantee that a phone call would have picked up your infection so better A&E when you went rather than over a bank holiday weekend. I hope that you feel much better soon. In the meantime rest and plenty of cat cuddles seem like a good idea.
I have endometriosis so the "longstanding" bit is familiar. Luckily I had an early menopause and the doctor said "It's so broken that it's packed up early" which just about sums up the situation. I tried HRT to bring back my memory which it did briefly before the other stuff kicked in again so these days I prefer the almost zero memory option.6 -
Glad to hear they looked after you well in A&E and you’re back home. Hope you start to feel better soon - I’m sure the anti-bs will help to some extent at least.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

So glad you’re home and Mr F is pampering you. Hope you’re feeling better very soon but in the meantime, take it sloooowly'In the widening gap between credits and debits hangs a question: What parts of this life are you willing to give up, so you can keep on living?'

Thanks all. Yes, I'm being sensible. I've just taken tonight's anti-bio & I still have another day of them tomorrow, so hopefully they will help with a few symptoms too. When I see the Dr - it'll be after Easter now - I will ask to be re-tested to check it's gone, as kidney infections are not a common occurrence for me.
@CRANKY40 - Yes, longstanding gynae issues can be really draining as the months & years go by.
Yes, Mr F is being a superstar. I'm not going to over-egg the pudding ....I don't feel great, but hopefully I'll pick up in the coming days as things settle down.

So pleased to hear they sorted you out, even if only temporarily. Let Mr FG look after you till you are feeling 100% again. AS for A&E, I agree, when DH ,myself, or my DD and he kids have had to go to A&E, we were treated very well indeed. I'm not sure it is the case in all hospitals, as I have heard some horror stories from friends & families elsewhere, but here in the Midlands, we seem to have excellent facilities, drs & nurses. Take care. xMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Welcome home 😊 So glad you got the reassurance you needed. My imagination would have been been going overtime with that kind of relevant family history. Thanks for the feedback on the flake test. I have never ever made jam, but I am determined to this year from our plums - we always seem to have gallons of them! I will remember this tip and think of you as I use it 😊
As you say, take it steady. You’ve had a stressful time and kidney infections are exhausting in themselves.KKAs at 15.08.25:
