Sounds lovely to be sat in the sun. We sat out in the garden just now after DH cut the lawn, but the sun was moving round and got quite a bit chilly in the shade. If you have far too much rhubarb, can you put a table outside and try and sell some to passers by? Or maybe just give some to your neighbours. Love a good rhubarb crumble, if I lived close to you I'd come and buy some from you.Making the debt go down and savings go up

I’m glad you’re sounding a bit brighter. Good news about the win 🥳I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I'm so glad that you mentioned the rhubarb. Mine is more than half way up the garden fence. It usually grows well but this is amazing. Today I picked some giant stalks for next door, some for best friend's next door neighbour, some for me to make crumble with and I took friend's neighbour some raspberry jam too. There is still at least two thirds of the rhubabrb left. I had to call into the doctors for my repeat prescription earlier this week and they have a "free food" table in there. They said they'd love to put some rhubarb on the table for people to help themselves so I'll drop some off on Tuesday.8

Not sure how I missed the A&E trip reference but am caught back up now. (Note to self; don't go and do something else mid-post, without checking back before posting!).
I hope you are feeling better and can enjoy Easter. All this talk of rhubarb, it is on my list to pick for Monday lunch (the last aga roast before it is switched off for the summer). It freezes really well just chopped in chunks and I have room in my produce freezer tooSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

@foxgloves I love lightly stewed rhubarb with yoghurt/cream, nuts and seeds. A quick but utterly delicious treat. Also, use it unsweetened in filo pastry, again with cream/yogurt or ice cream? Keep on getting better darling love Humdinger xx5

Then there's apple batter pudding which you can make with crab apples. And even (although I haven't done it yet) bacon batter pudding. Courtesy of Good Housekeeping c 1967. Still my goto recipe book even though it doesn't have the new stuff in.Then there is mixed dried fruit or plums. I have unfortunately lost my free source of both rhubarb & apples & the bought ones are just not the same.5

@badmemory, if you lived near to me, I would be round to your house with a big bundle of rhubarb like a rat up a pipe!

Hi Foxgloves, I have just been telling my partner about your rhubarb, he said where does she live (desperate for a rhbarb crumble!) I explained no where near us, one very disappointed man!! I have started some rhubarb seeds off not sure he realises it will be a couple of years before we get to pull any, thats if all goes to plan. Hope you are feeling much better now and are enjoying the sun shine x7
