Thanks for all your good wishes. I'm still not feeling good. I have just ordered a new nightdress in case I end up being sent for an emergency hysterectomy. My current nighties are too short for parading around a hospital ward in. What a woeful choice of women's nightwear online! I don't want logos & neither do I want Snoopy because I'm an adult. Spent £45 because it was the only one I would wear that wasn't too short to cover my pride. Hopefully it won't come to an emergency admission, but I'm a planner, as you know. I am thinking of phoning the Dr's surgery tomorrow to see if I can have a phone appointment. Everything's in my records, so I am thinking it ought to be fairly easy for my GP to refer me again. Naturally, having decided this, our surgery pinged all its patients this morning to say that they are hugely busy & please only to ring in if it absolutely can't wait, but I think I am sensible enough to know that I do need to talk to somebody.
I'm not feeling very sociable or chatty, but can tell you that I have not been sitting around feeling sorry for myself (well, I have a bit tbh...) I've done all this week's laundry & pegged it out to dry in the sun, and also dealt with yesterday's roast chicken leftovers. I have sufficient for a salad & cajun wedges tonight, spicy pittas & salad tomorrow, have donated a decent portion to the 'Epic Man Stew Box' which has appeared in the fridge & everything else has gone in the slow cooker for stock, along with a frozen carcas from last time.
My neighbour has made a start on his boundary work, having decided he very much liked the solution we put to him, & I was pleased to see this happening nice & early in the season (the bit that affects us, anyway), as I didn't want to put new plantings in, then have to move things because of the changes. All looking good so far. Both households positive.
Right, must go & fetch the laundry in & think about cutting those potato wedges.

Hope you manage to get a phone call with a dr and they can sort you out. Sensible to order a nightie. Come to think of it, if I ever got taken into hospital, some of my current nightwear is very old and tatty....lol. Reminds me of a story of my grandma. She always had a lovely dressing gown that she kept in a plastic bag and said it was for if she ever got taken into hospital. On the night he died, my mum had been to see her in her flat in the afternoon and asked why it was hanging on the wardrobe door. My gran replied that you never know when it might be needed. At 5 to midnight that night, she died of a stroke. Premonition or what?Making the debt go down and savings go up

Hi Foxgloves, I know you barely know me, so please understand that everything written below is in the spirit of support to you.I’m sorry to read of your gynae woes. I had to have a hysterectomy at the age of 39 - I was only just functional for one week out of 4 and that was whilst on the pill. It closed down some choices for me but it gave me my life back.I’d recommend taking some plain biscuits in with you (the food where I was, was diabolical!) and lots and lots of water. Oh and the cliche about grapes for people in hospital? Well worth taking in with you, to help get your digestion moving again after the morphine. I recommend prunes or raisins when you get home too.You absolutely must respect the advice about not doing too much, lifting too much etc when you get home - the risk of adhesions is significant and can be avoided if you are gentle with yourself. It may well be peak gardening season when you get home and you will be itching to do everything - perhaps plan some help with what will need doing? Either Mr FG or a friend? If the surgery is needed, I absolutely wish you all the best and a very swift and full recovery. If you’ll accept hugs from a stranger ((((((((Foxgloves))))))))))

I'm so glad poppy said that. It is what I have been thinking too, but I don't have a nurses hat to put on. I've had one & once over the actual op I haven't looked back. Mine was for a different reason but oh the joy of no more 12 day in 28 periods. The only time I hadn't been anaemic was when I was pregnant. Just make sure you get the HRT.I am in total sympathy with the nightwear thing. I am waiting to go in for a hip replacement & realised my dressing gown has paint on it & anyway I want one that doesn't gape open as soon as you sit down & a nightdress that does more than just cover my rear end.8

Oh, foxgloves. That sounds painful. I hope you get some relief soon.5
