@rtandon27 - It infuriates me when owners allow their dogs to pee up the ends of the fence & wall on our front courtyard even when I'm out there gardening!
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!2 -
Pleasant day, gentle pace. Successful hairwash at kitchen sink as bath mending gunk still hardening. Baked a seeded loaf & a batch of pear & lemon muffins. Only 4 pears used today so had better go & eat another one in a minute. Good crop considering both the drought & the fact that I remembered to thin them.
Practised dress pattern in old scrap fabric which was a chance to have a go at inserting pockets into side seams & doing facings. I can now see where I need to adapt the fit. It needs to be bigger all over except the sleeves & I will prefer it without pockets. Shall adjust & test new fit using more scrap fabric just for the relevant pieces before cutting out in my bargainaceous black winter fabric.
600g tomatoes peeled, chopped & in the slow cooker - gigantes plakis with chunky home baked bread tonight. Might do some more tomato bottling tomorrow - we are reaching the end of them, but still more than we can use without recourse to preserving.
Divvied up the 2kg of special offer mince & froze in easy-use amounts. It will make a lot of portions for that £12 so well worth having.
Garden pickings: Basil
Right, time to clear up all the bits of sewing thread I've trailed through the house.

@Dakota_Rose - I just used Nigella's recipe for Raspberry & lemon muffins but substituted chopped pears instead of raspberries. They are very nice, despite my misgivings about the batter being so liquid. Mr F, who assured me multiple times first thing that he'd definitely only require cheese & oatcakes for his packed lunch tomorrow, has now upgraded to cheese, oatcakes & a muffin. No surprises there!
