Good news that the tablets are helping the vertigo. You're sounding a lot brighter today. Crafty Soot trying to maximise the biscuit slot 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I’m glad the vertigo is backing off a bit 😊
I’ve noticed surveys are a bit naff this month. I thought it was me … 🤔 Holiday season? (There are very few job vacancies around atm either.)

Morning Peeps,
Well the shopping from home stores is paying off doubly so. When I did the under the kitchen sink and found excessiveness in the all mighty - how did it all fit there? It got sorted and itemised so it was easier to shop from under the sink. This was added too with stuff not thrown from parents house and their (mum's) stores. There is the overflow now stored in the workshop with its own list which DH can read too. He has actually used/shopped there to do some odd tasks. With these excesses I saved a £1 for each item used up even if that included a single car freshener. I currently have £85
Not sure what to do with it as this time and it is a cash stash. There were some donated food stuffs from my DSis1 who doesn't do OOD so they were included. It will still take time to get through them as some of the cleaners are water based and a general cleaner so they are decanted into a small green bottle, the house smells lovely my version of Purdy and a Fig
The scraps of wood we have collected over the summer are now quite a pile. They will soon start to diminish when the fire starts getting lit. We have fuel left over from winter which will put us in good stead for later, need to get some ordered before prices start shooting up.
I really need to get back on the wagon of checking finances and still putting savings away. We have definitely wasted far too this year. Spending time with parents is affecting my focus and concentration as by the time I get home I am mentally done.

Glad the vertigo has subsided FG. I hate it when that happens. We have been busy decorating this weekend, with lots of prep work on water damaged wall and ceiling. After all the dirt was gone our poor old Dyson was clogged with dirt and dust. Decided to follow utube and take it apart - delighted to be able to put all the clean parts back together and not have to pay bill for servicing. Working like a dream. Loving the thrifty life. X10

Thanks for all your comments, which I enjoyed reading, as always.
@2Scratters - It's so satisfying using stuff up instead of just automatically buying more, isn't it? I'm sure you will soon get back into the headspace of money saving again - maybe September, as that's got all the 'new term, new start' vibes, hasn't it? I think that's why my decluttering urge is building up.
@marionmgcars - One good thing about that brand is that they do come to pieces for home servicing/mending & most pieces can be purchased online for just this purpose.
@KajiKita - Yes, I think surveys will pick up once all the universities & research establishments are back for the new Autumn term. I've done a couple today, but very few & far between compared to my usual earnings by this time in the month.
@Sun_Addict - Yes, very crafty. I think Soot could give Mr SA a run for his money in the pester department!

Hello Tuesday Thrifters,
Thanks for your well wishes re the vertigo. I still have it - the tablets just mask it & allow me to get on with my day. I had intended to try a day with no medication today, but as I wanted to make jam, I thought that turning round with a full cauldron of red-hot jam would be a bit of a risky test. I have been fine in the day, as can moderate my behaviour & make sure I don't do any deep bends or suddenly put my head at an angle, but at night when I lie down in bed, I still get a quick episode of it, & so I know it hasn't entirely gone away. I think I will try without tablets tomorrow - I can always take a dose if I find I need them. At least I've had this before & know what I'm dealing with & that it does go away........for years at a time.
Right, enough about dodgy earholes, on to today's money saving activity:
*Sorted all the dry laundry from yesterday & ironed only what absolutely needed it. Switched the iron off to press the final garments using residual heat. Probably a miniscule saving, but done every week with other little energy saving practices, well, it all adds up, doesn't it?
*Made blackberry & apple jam. Is there anything more redolent of autumn being on its way than the smell of blackberries & apples simmering on the hob? It made 9 jars, one of which will definitely be going into a festive hamper later in the year. Sufficient apples leftover to make something else - probably a small batch of apple & mint jelly. I just need to check I have enough small jars before I start fannying around with the jellybag.
*Prepped 800g of our homegrown tomatoes for tonight's dinner - Gigantes plakis - currently in the slow cooker. Enough to serve us tomorrow night as well, so intend to eat it with crusty homemade bread tonight & probably rice, maybe with some roast veg added, tomorrow.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast.
*Today's garden pickings: Grapes for my lunch, basil & picked up some windfall pears. I really do need to spend some time in the garden. I started cutting back & weeding the borders, but I'm going to have to find a way of doing that job without the usual huge amount of bending it entails. I did work something out using long-handled fork & a grabber when I hurt my back muscles, so I'll see how that works for avoiding vertigo. Hope it buggers off soon!
*Did a couple of surveys - oh, actually it is 3 as I had a YouGov this morning & have spotted a Taste Nation one in my inbox, so at least 4.
Well, the sun has come out after a dark showery morning, so am going to decamp to garden bench with my book & present knitting.
Take care, all,
F x

@EssexHebridean - I have only just joined up for the free hour so I will hopefully be taking part in the next one.
@KajiKita - I enjoyed stashing all those purple jars away in the pantry this morning.
