Stayed AF Saturday and Sunday so 4/15 please. Hope and expect to remain AF today but will wait to post either later tonight or tomorrow morning.Well done for not continuing TurnErse after meeting a colleague on 1st. I sometimes find that hard especially if I have enjoyed a drink and feel like continuing that enjoyment if you see what I mean. I need to have a good month in February as away on holiday for much of March and am likely to have a drink most if not every evening then.7

6 days please.
@AllNightDiner thank you. Most in my position stop drinking altogether, I haven't because whilst I did use on nights out it wasn't about drinking more which it is for a lot of people, I always preferred the affects of cocaine to alcohol. An awful lot of people who end up in rehab for cocaine addiction are either actually alcoholics that use to drink more or have been smoking crack and using other drugs. I didn't fall into either of those categories and was fortunate enough to be able to pay for a more personalised approach to recovery than most. However, I do often get cravings after a few drinks and I never want to wind up relapsing again so I drink only in certain situations, in small quantities literally one glass of wine with dinner type quantities, only around certain people and not very often. Whilst I haven't fully given up drinking I am very mindful about what and when I do drink these days. Last month I had a few bad days where I chose to drink 'to relax'. Talked it through during therapy and as a result rn I am not planning to drink until my wife's birthday in April. See how that goes and touch base during the next few sessions. A few years back I would reach for a drink of an evening pretty much every day, it was a habit that fortunately didn't cross into an addiction unlike the other stuff but if it starts getting to be a habit again I'd like to think with the help of ongoing therapy it is something I'd quit entirely whilst 'ahead' so to speak.5 -
Another one for me Cathy please 5/26.
It's very interesting and intriguing hearing other people's stories and experiences of alcohol and other drugs/addictions. We live in a society where the 'norm' is to drink, infact we are encouraged to drink even when we don't want to for various reasons.
I think as I get older and wiser (just a wee bit lol) I am more comfortable treading my own path but sometimes the easiest path is to go with the flow. Or is that just a cop out, an excuse, passing the blame to someone else 🤔6
