Floors mopped, rubbish and recycling out, various bits finally put away in the garage, second load of washing done. Chucked some soda crystals with boiling water down the kitchen sink, some surveys done (£10 but not withdrawable yet) and a couple of matched bets (£4).

I've been and collected the playpen for Winnie, it's practically brand new and costs £60 on Amazon, (cost me £20 from marketplace), so hopefully once I'm finished with it I can sell it on again. I also popped into town at the same time as they lived very close, I stocked up on some food bags from Ikea, some tealights (I do use quite a few), a lovely red cardigan in H&M reduced to £10 and then these absolute bargains from M&S ... gammon is ds favourite meat, he also eats lots of ham in sandwiches / wraps so an absolute steal. One is about to go in the oven, the others are headed for the (very full) freezer :)

First day back at work done - it wasn't too bad, a fairly quiet day, the worst bit was having to get up and de-ice the car in the dark. I am tired tonight though, so hot bath has been had and pj's are on already :)
Chicken casserole for dinner then an early night I think!

Not sure where the last two weeks have gone?!

So, it;s nearly time to collect Winnie, she comes home on Tuesday when I finish work. I could have collected her on Wednesday this week but ds and friend are going away tomorrow until Tuesday afternoon, so it would have meant she'd be by herself while I was at work which is a no no, so I am collecting her Tuesday instead.

This weekend is all about cleaning the house, getting everything ready for her and some football of course :)

This morning I have been and bought the last few bits I need, some treats, another toy and her id tag with phone number on it. I've also done a quick trip to Home Bargains for various bits, Sainsburys for the food shop, collected a prescription, collected two parcels and a trip to the tip.

Ds and friend blitzed the garage again this week, hence the tip trip. I need to do another one tomorrow but it's nearly football time now so that can wait. Sainsburys was more like a top up shop, only £35 which these days isn't bad at all. The batch cooking is definitely helping, I've been taking meals to work every day and working through the stockpile of blueberries in my porridge. This weekend I want to make a lasggne and a spaghetti bolognese to top up the freezer. I've got the mince, mushrooms etc in the freezer already so don't need to get anything else.

One of the parcels I collected was a pack of puppy milestone cards, they are in the shape of a bone and say things like "My first walk" or "I met the vet today". I am failing miserably with the one photo a day app (January doesn't make for many photo opportunities. I am going to restart on Tuesday with a year of puppy pics instead.

The second parcel arrived soon after my last post, so I went and collected that too. Today I have popped to M&S and got some reduced bits (2 x chicken, 2 x beef mince), and made a lasagne and chicken casserole. The rest of the meat went straight in the freezer, along with 4 portions of casserole and 4 of lasagne.

I've also done more cleaning, sorting, another trip to the tip with various metal bits that were laying around. I have cleaned the cat carrier, it is for a very big cat so Winnie should fit in it just fine. My bedding has all been washed and bed remade, ds and friend have gone off for their trip so I have the house to myself. It feels very strange to think when they get back Winnie will be here :)

When we got our new pup last Easter, I quickly realised that I also needed to move the baskets that lived on the console tables in the kitchen and dining room, and the oven gloves. Even now she's a devil for taking one of the gloves and having a good chew!
