Having been an Octopus customer now for nearly 5 years, the last thought in my mind would be that they overcharge their customers. When things do go wrong, they will often default to a position where the consumer benefits. Perhaps the OP should change his thread title to something like ‘Octopus - Bill Confusion’.

Since I moved to Octopus in April I've paid just £1 and that was only to activate the referral reward. I've taken advantage of excellent SEG rates, TOU tariffs for both electricity and gas that have saved me lots, Saving Sessions that have rewarded me for altering the times I've used energy and decent customer service when I have had to contact them.

They seem to be one of the fairest companies around. With millions of customers, obviously mistakes will be made but I believe they do their best to sort problems quickly and are genuinely interested in making their customers happy.
