    Feeling slightly deflated that already had to do balance transfer to increase my debt to pay an unexpected vet bills, some of which I will be able to recoup from insurance, but not all.

    Feeling slightly deflated that already had to do balance transfer to increase my debt to pay an unexpected vet bills, some of which I will be able to recoup from insurance, but not all. 


    Do you have an emergency fund set up? If not start to save now. I've used mine lots of times without adding to debt. Most opt for £1000 but personally I go for £500, which will cover most emergencies.

    Not a daft question @olaf2014 although not sure there’s a clear or obvious answer.
    I think if it was me I would go go for the little and often method of paying off credit cards and catalogues as it would remove the temptation to spend it elsewhere.
