Thanks @PipneyJane I will post a photo next week as we are at a wedding today. Yes a rhetorical site that landed at my grandmas house which then cascaded into my parents! Mother is the hoarder of plenty. There is also a box of Dazzlo wood floor polish but can be used for other stuff. All genuine and non off the back of a wagon
prepare yourself.

Thanks, @Cherryfudge I'm sorry for your loss too. Even though Dad had been unwell for a number of years, he still tried to do things for himself. Right up until this week, he was as independent as he could be, sometimes stubbornly so!
Yes, I remember when we registered my mam, we got a few copies of the death certificate. I made a list of all the different things to do then, so I had a head start making my list this time. My head's been in a fog so far, but hopefully it will start to clear soon.....
Our daughter just wrote on her blog about a song by Dame Shirley Bassey, called After The Rain. Next time it rains I'm going outside to enjoy it on my face.2025 Fashion on the ration

So sorry to hear about your dad, too, @Cherryfudge. Big hugs.
There must be something about May. My dad died on the 22nd, but that was 34 years ago. (How to torture an engineer for eternity: the plaque over his ashes is crooked.)

Also sad to hear of your loss, @MrsCD - no matter how old we are (not implying anything!) when a parent goes, they take a large chunk of our hearts with them.
I've been running riot in Wales & will have to add some coupons for a skein of beautiful hand-spun, hand-dyed yarn that I couldn't resist in one of the craft shops. As we came away at very short notice - less than 24 hours, the newly-weds having found a great deal on a last-minute week in a spa hotel in Madeira, half-board & flights included - my packing was utterly chaotic & I managed to leave my sensible shoes & slippers behind, though I did remember my wellies! So a number of charity shops have been visited & I am now the proud possessor of some brand-new-but-second-hand M&S travel slippers (£1.99) & a pair of slightly gaudy but comfortable N1ke trainers (7.99) with good grip; my old trainers that I drive in are so worn they'd be lethal on the slippery slate sections of the Pembrokeshire coast path. Also a pair of pretty Havaianas that still had their holographic tag on, for £2.50. We won't mention the two small quilts, armsful of odd yarns for DD2, the large bag of vintage fabric that came back from meeting a friend in Fishguard this morning, or the book of Susan Duckworth patterns, which has mysteriously vanished up to DD2's room.
But I did think to bring some small "projects" with me - I've made 8 re-usable shopping bags from the remains of a giant curtain, which has "given" me 20 bags in all for 50p, filled 50-odd voile bags with dried lavender for sale, etc. etc. however I'd finished them all before yesterday's rain, hence falling for the skein of yarn! Luckily I had thought to bring a few hooks... at the end of the day, we're On Holiday; we're free because we should have been in Spain with DS2 & family, but OH's car "ate" my holiday savings. But this is a glorious part of the world; hedgerows billowing with wildflowers, empty golden beaches, lovely food & people, and basically we're here for free. Coupons for a skein of yarn is a small price to pay!

I'm hooking up a little shawl; DS1's (beautiful) home is on the cool side, which reminded me I'm doing a two-day event in a barn shortly & will need a little extra insulation!

@thriftwizard that's beautiful3

That yarn is beautiful, @thriftwizard. Very inspired of you to make it into a shawl. Hope you crochet fast enough to wear it before you head home from DS1's.

One of my swimming-companions has slipped hill-walking and has to keep his right arm in a sling for six weeks, and initially at any rate not use it at all - he always loves my baking when I bring snacks along for us all, so as Mr E and I will be passing where he lives later this evening, I've just rustled up a batch of Anzac biscuits to drop round as he really loved those - the only problem is that I seem to have eaten quite a few myself...
I always think of making a half-batch and always decide I can't be bothered working out the arithmetic just now and I'll do it another time and just make a whole batch - and I'm sure it's best because if I only made a half-batch there wouldn't be enough to share12025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
