Hi all,
@MrsCD so sorry to hear about your Dad. My thoughts are with you. As Laura said just because it was expected doesn't mean it isn't a shock. Look after yourself and take some comfort from knowing he was pain free and where he wanted to be. Hugs
I have coupon spends to declare after I went to use some vouchers today. I bought 4 t shirts for myself, 2 t shirts as presents for upcoming birthdays and a fleece cardigan for another gift for an upcoming birthday. Looking at the list I calculate that at 35 coupons. So 89.5 - 35 = 54.5 remaining. I was very tempted by some thick socks but then decided against them as I really do have enough socks it's just that I don't have many thick ones left. But we are coming into summer so I won't be wearing thick socks for a few months hopefullyso what I have should last me into next year. I may need some new slippers soon as I seem to have stretched them by wearing the thick socks
They are not yet worn out but they are falling off my feet so I might get some new ones to wear with the thin socks. I will ponder for a while.
Take care everyone

MrsCD said:Dad passed away at home yesterday afternoon. The District nurses worked so hard to make him pain free, and he was calm and peaceful when he left us.
Today I've made lists......
Working my way through systematically is how I cope...it's my OCD streak. Others do it their own way.
Thanks for the support from you lovely people. 😪

Thinking of you @MrsCD on the passing of your dad x
I came on with an offer (not sure if permitted) not sure where else to go as there is a box full of old new darning wool and as I have never yet got to knitting socks - got the tools but no idea yetThis will be on my to do list at some point in my after work finishes time of life. Just wish I'd found this thread sooner. If someone needs to save some coupons I could be the one in a long black coat with goodies.
2 Scratters xxAnything is better than nothing-check back and see

You’re always welcome here, even if you aren’t counting coupons. Cup of tea? I’m just making a fresh pot.

@Mrs.CD sorry to hear of your loss. It is hard even if you are expecting it. Hugs and prayers for you. I am still dealing with my father's death - and he died in 2006. It takes awhile.3

Thank you all so very much for your best wishes.
We're packing his numerous cardis, trousers and shirts etc into bags for the charity shops, to keep busy, because we can't get the death certificate until next week. The housing association has been good so far. We have four weeks with the option of more to clear everything out of the bungalow. We've had some laughs as well as tears reminiscing today...2025 Fashion on the ration
150g sock yarn = 3 coupons
Lined trousers = 6 coupons ...total 9/66 used
2 t-shirts = 8 coupons
Trousers = 6 coupons ... total 23/66
2 cardigans = 10 coupons
Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 38/66
Nightie = 6 coupons
Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 49/666 -
It's nice that the housing association aren't rushing you: processing time is valuable, and how lovely that there have been laughs in amongst the tears. Your Dad's legacy.
It's nice too that others will benefit from the clothes he no longer needs. I hope that gives some nice feeling when you think of the pleasure they will bring to others and that they will continue to be appreciated.
My Dad passed away in May as well and I remember the delay caused by the bank holiday, which somehow seemed to be a long time though it probably wasn't. My advice would be to get a few copies of the death certificate when it becomes available because it's cheaper than reordering later and you may need to send more than one off in the next few weeks.
