Thriftwizard those bees are superb. What a lovely idea - way to deal hide stains rather than chuck the clothing item. I wish that I had seen this years ago.

'Ladykillers' is good, Pip. I'm usually catching up on The Archers on podcasts, but I do like a good Poirot dramatisation, every so often there's a replay on BBC Sounds. The other thing I've been listening to recently is 'I'm Not A Monster: The Shamima Begum Story'. Fascinating and very well researched, it's really made me think.

@PollyWollyDoodle - I've listened to the first series of I'm Not A Monster, which was about an American family who joined ISIS.  The Shamima Begum Story is in my ever growing queue.  (There are bound to be duplicates in the Queue, since the iPhone Podcast app only shows about 50 at a time.)

@Laura_Elsewhere The thick cotton, baggy, black, school gym bloomers, (worn as a second layer  over regular knickers,) Somehow I had managed to forget about them. In chilly weather the leg part would cover as far as the knees or the waist reach to the underarm.

Hello everyone, apologies for an off-topic questions but I wondered if anyone knows of anything in the UK similar to the Loose Ends Project? This finishes craft items for those who've become unable to complete them?

Loose Ends is international but someone has asked me if there's anything which might potentially have a lower carbon footprint? (I could ask her if she's considered sending by surface mail, if that's still a 'thing').

There's another tiny stain where the needle is so a third bee will probably appear in the morning!

Now that is the kind of thing that gets 'visible mending' a good name!! Beautiful, original and very very lovely - nice work!

@thriftwizard what an amazing idea. I have inherited - my choice a very dark navy blue hand made coat and the damn moths have had a go at it. I will wear it though. There is some damage on the rear left shoulder/arm area where I have had a go at stitching it up. Will try an upload to show you

oops - not so sure of the stitching - it will do I think till the garment decides otherwise.
Actually when I think about the damage - should have taken a pre picture. I am discrediting myself and I won't see it in the mirror.

I don't imagine those tiny holes will be easy to spot on very dark navy - and if you feel they are visible, that's the perfect coat for a vivid scarf which people will automatically notice more than the back of the coat.

It looks as though someone was a skilled tailor, the finish looks so even. It's lovely that you can keep the coat going and it will live out its intended usefulness.
