What 3 words is useful but can be problematic. We had a talk from the mountain rescue recently and the chap who gave the talk was describing a callout and the information that they were given about the whereabouts of the casulty. The what three words they were given was for somewhere 200 miles away! Suggest give as much info as you can alongside, grid ref, description and what 3 words, etc.Looking at where the walker was found it would not surprise me at all if there is no mobile signal in that location. In walking groups we have been advised to preregister with the 999 SMS service (which I think was a service originally set up to allow hard of hearing or dumb people to be able to make a 999 call). The logic is that in areas of very poor reception you are more likely to be able to get an SMS message through than make a call. If you are preregistered you can then text 999 if you need to make a 999 call in an area with poor reception. I am not disagreeing with you @Laura_Elsewhere. If you don’t have a map and compass - and can’t use them to pinpoint your location - don’t go hiking.
@skogar good idea.

I'll try to catch up today.
Working and crafting has had me away on war work.
Hope everyone is well.
Local yarn shop is closing down, just heard about it. Sad and a sign of the times maybe, but I will confess I popped in for the first time a few weeks ago and decided I wouldn't be going back. A strange vibe and I didn't feel particularly welcomed.
No coupon spends to report. Second hand purchases of new (to me) footwear and some tops and just waiting on them to arrive, but have a number of items leaving thanks to Mr E of Bay Trading. Getting rid of that which is a perfect fit - which is good for me mentally as well as financiallyWealth is not measured by currency8 -
Thriftwizard - I was remembering my Gran making us gloves with different coloured fingers to use up odds and ends of wool and wondered if the same method would work for "underthings" Depends on the size of pieces you have left of course but assume you would end up with a pair that looked different from the front and the back!Coupon spend to report - 6 prs of navy cotton ankle socks and 2 pairs of wool ones. Think that is 16 so that is me down to 50 coupons now.Oops got that wrong - ankle socks are 1 coupon so 8 coupons - that's me down to 58.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons7

Good evening everyone. We have been sorting through the first of my stepfathers stuff, alongside doing all the paperwork.My husband has come home with fourteen pairs of trainers and shoes to try on. Five pairs of shoes are definitely okay. The trainers are one /two sizes bigger, so he will need to try them on. He wonders with his own shoes if he will have to buy anymore shoes for the rest of this decade.
I have come home with a top that I never saw him wear. I am trying it out as a pj top tonight otherwise I will wear it at the weekends around the house. I also got a pair of pj bottom and six pairs of socks that look nearly new.My brother didn't like the idea of wearing my stepfather's clothes, he does say that he is the fool and I have the right idea but still can't do it.Would you wear a deceased person's clothes?2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Condolences on your loss, Gem-Gem.
It's no different to me than buying something from a charity shop, I suspect quite often their stock has been donated when someone is clearing a relative's house. I'm not sure I would want to wear something very distinctive that the person might have been recognised in, but otherwise why not? None of my mum's stuff were things that I would have worn, but I kept - and used - her handbag for quite a while. It made me feel close to her.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.6 -

I still wear my father's red sweater - I am wearing it now. He had it for over 30 years and I inherited it from him in 2006, so it has been around for awhile. I also wear the sweater that belonged to my mother who died back in 2008. Feel that they are looking after me when I wear them.8

I was wearing a long cardigan of my late Mum's and a friend said, " That's nice, it's like she's giving you a hug". I thought that was a lovely thought and held on to it, ( the thought and the cardi).10
