  • Hi, spent 6 coupons on 6 pairs of socks - Thought were having a 3 for 2 offer on, and as I have progressively fewer socks with no holes and/or functional elastic, thought I'd indulge myself.

A bit expensive, but environmentally friendly bamboo socks which last (if they're anything like my other ones) about 8 years of frequent wear are worth it IMHO

Just because we’re on MSE, doesn’t mean we have to be cheap @Wraithlady.  So long as we apply the “Vîmes Boot Theory” and buy quality, our purchases will pay for themselves.

Well, these would definitely pass the Vimes test (adapted for socks, obvs).

Lost my gloves last week so had to buy replacement ones - it's just a bit too cold to be gloveless on the bike. First clothing purchase of the year. I think that's 2 coupons for gloves.
    Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 600
  • My young roommate who was here for awhile taught me that socks and gloves didn't have to match in color. As long as they are about the same weight, they are okay. The next time you lose a glove, you might want to check with the lost and found for the bus company or at a school to see what they haven't been able to get rid of.
  • @Cherryfudge amazing find, well done

Little bit of a charity shop spree today, so I have some sheepskin boots, coupon free. :) The nearest of this make I can find on the web were originally £130.00 and are £65 in the sale, so £6.99 was a bargain.

I also found a 1940s scrapbook of magazine cuttings - knitting patterns and tips on reducing coupons spends! DH found me sitting on the shop floor reading about replacing worn out feet in socks, so it came home with us and will be in my birthday presents next month! I will share photos of the most coupon-friendly tips of course. :)
Great finds @Cherryfudge.  Excellent price for the boots - hope they keep your feet toasty warm - and re the scrapbook, I am so jealous.  I could get lost in it for hours.

You're making a postbox topper!  @MrsCD I am in awe!  Please share photos when it's finished.
