Hate to tell you but - although not definite by any means - current event sup in the stratosphere make it much more likely than not that there will be a cold spell in 2-4 weeks' time... sorry!
We gathered together ALL my yarn today.

About twice as much as I expected. There are yarn shops with less.
Still, Mr E is very brilliant and encouraging and we will keep working on this...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

How is everyone's knitting going?
The pattern for my new top is appallingly badly written. I’m considering leaving some demanding questions on the pattern page on Ravelry: how many rows am I meant to work before dividing for the sleeves? How many stitches should I have on my needles after joining the wrap front to form the body? It doesn’t say anywhere, and while I can work out some of the measurements by calculating the multiples into rows and stitch counts, so much is still unclear.
I couldn’t face it this weekend. I’m sick with a cold and just didn’t have the brain space. I did knit while watching the telly, but only on my sock (which doesn’t require thought).

Hi all, well I am not knitting at all atm as I am crocheting the baby blanket
. It is going well and eating the yarn
@Laura_Elsewhere we always seem to have a cold snap at the beginning of March here. I mentioned to OH only the other day that if we get snow here it is often at the end of Feb or the beginning of March here and I never expect spring to really kick in until the end of March though there are lots of snowdrops out and other bulbs are appearing.
Take care everyone6 -
One incredibly useful thing Mr E has pointed out is that I need to stop "knitting socks in isolation" - ie I knit socks because it soothes me and I love having nice socks BUT I don't think about what I will wear said socks with - I rarely wear trousers so my socks show, and for example I seem to have several pairs of turquoise-ish socks and absolutely no clothing that they don't look odd with...
So no more socks to be cast on without a clear decision as to which skirt or cardigan they will go with...
And I have a small pile of yarn I am realistically not going to use, including some purple-and-cream stuff I never liked, but I bought because it's good WYS stuff and was reduced, and since buying it and realising I don't like it as-is, I have wasted more money buying yarn in hopes of making the original mistake-yarn useable, only neither new purchase has worked, so all-in-all, that's really not been a bargain at all, has it?!
A large ball of deep cobalt-blue wool, 'bulky' weight, is about to become a cabled slipover. Should knit up rapidly and *will* go with various other clothes...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Used ultra-chunky yarn, and it's certainly cosy - not sure it's not bullet-proof given how thick it is!
Now moved on to one of my other UFO's - supposed to be a boro bag but I'm losing patience with it so I may just do sashiko in a few of the patches and call it quits.
Then back to finishing the shrug and the socks I started. (starting I can do - it's finishing I have a problem with!)2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Why turquoise? Would it be one of your favourite colours @Laura_Elsewhere? Good idea from MrE, but you need to figure out what consistently draws you to that colour or you’ll make the same mistake.
If you can’t find outfits to wear with those socks, could you gift them to someone? Alternatively, could you frog them and turn them into something-else that you can wear? Found it! Ooohhh it’s full of honey cake! Please have a slice.
I am surprised that you only bought a t-shirt. I find the shops in the southern hemisphere have much wider range of summer clothing, so I’m more likely to find something that appeals to my taste.

@PipneyJane - no, I hate turquoise, can't stand it. Along with teal and purple and chocolate-brown, those "colours" that our society permits fat middle-aged women to wear with black...
I just kept being given sock-yarn over the years by other people who had bought it presumably because of societal pressure (apols to everyone who genuinely likes the colours - I just get cross with entire shops filled with plus-size clothing only in hip-length tents in those colours intended to make us all inoffensivly-invisible, bah humbug).
I even had some turquoise-AND-purple wool given to me once and dutifully started trying to make myself a scarf or something - it was a real blessing when someone mentioned in passing that she adores those colours so that I could make it into a shawl and send it to her as a surprise...
I am currently knitting ankle socks which are cream, with a turn-down cuff in mock-spiral-rib, edged in pale cucumber-green, and with one-round stripes in a warm salmon-pink, and the heel diapered in salmon, and now the decreases in 2-round stripes of cream and salmon.... I'm calling them salmon & cucumber sandwichesThey will work with several of my spring and summer skirts, worn with coloured or white plimsoles.
