@Laura_Elsewhere, that mitred corner is so interesting! I look forward to seeing it on the finished garment as it should look fantastic.
Do I detect a little hint of a dislike of turquoise there? What has it ever done to you?I think it might be time to rehome those socks and any yarns in the unacceptable colours, because there is sure to be someone somewhere losing sleep over not having hand knitted turquoise socks... and why should you continue to suffer?

Next time you are given a yarn that you dislike, don't keep it. Pass it on to your nearest charity shop, so that someone else will find it and love it.

Flying the flag for turquoise as a colour over here LOL
Sorry to hear of knitting and yarn woes.
I started using up this random raspberry pink yarn I was given, into a lap blanket, but I've now left it alone for a few days and cant remember what I was stitching/hooking as I just made it up and I'm not good enough with stitches to recognise them - opps!
Maybe if I just start something now, what I have done will look like an intentional top/bottom differential.Wealth is not measured by currency6 -
I shall have to sort my socks and make decisions - because I mostly wear skirts, it means my ankle-socks are a colourful part of my outfits for most of the year!
I've started a new slipover (ie sleeveless pullover) - this is the Cobalt Cabled Slipover... I've only knitted two- or three-strand cable plaits before and I have to admit that I *have no idea* how this works, but I'm just repeatedly working the same 8 rows, and it seems to be coming out rather nicely.
There's a strand of deep-blue metallic-thread added to the yarn too. I bought the yarn, ooh, 15 or 20 years ago? It's a Wendy 'bulky' weight wool-rich yarn, and has already been two cardigans and a shrug...

Feeling pleased with myself - I've finally finished sewing up a jumper I made for OH a l-o-o-o-n-g time ago - so long, in fact, that the first thing I've had to do with it since is wash it because it was dusty!Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

Think of passing it the unloveds on as your contribution to the war effort: save someone else the coupons, and do your reverse couponing thing to pay yourself back. (If you remember the one you came up with last year where completed items counted towards filling an invisible coupon book).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@CAFCGirl, you could post a picture of some of your stitches and see if anyone can help to identify them, but if you are happy to make the 'deliberate' top/bottom contrast, I don't see why not. It could look very effective, and I doubt your knees will notice. anyway.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

@Laura_Elsewhere, the cable looks very complicated, I can feel myself being mesmerised by it.
There is something very soothing about a pattern like that. Are you working bands of it then sewing them together, or is this an edge?
The yarn doesn't look as though it's been used before, let alone on its fourth incarnation. (That gives me hope for some rescued stuff that I have).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi all, I love turquoise and teal but I can't be doing with purple
. As I mostly wear trousers my socks are not really a problem
@Laura_Elsewhere, the cable does indeed look complicated and it is something I intend to learn at some point and I agree with Cherryfudge it doesn't look like the wool has been used before
Take care everyone6
