Thanks, Pipney -Jane . So I’m now at 52.5 for the year and feeling very pleased with myself. However, I need to reign in the CShop purchases as I’m an avid declutterer( with MrsSD ) so I’m going to carry the unused coupons over to next year. Needs not wants is the secret , I think. 

Thank you all the regulars on this thread , although I don’t post very often, I’m a fan of reading about the Home Front at home and day to day life, and enjoy reading your posts

Evening All, sneaking back in quietly. I did start well for first 3 months of the year then spectacularly off the rails and lost track completely! Safe to say I blew the coupon budget and then some, too scared to write it down and tot it all up! 😔  I will rejoin for 2024 and start afresh.

Don't worry too much- I went wildly over every single time for my first three years... it takes time to change the ways of thinking we've all been persuaded into... keep on coming back to it, and gradually you'll find that you're just making more deliberate decisions- you might still be over the annual coupons but making better decisions, buying longer-lasting clothes, so the following year you don't need to buy so many... it changes slowly but surely, so long as you keep coming back to it

Thank you @Laura_Elsewhere for sharing your recipe, I'm looking forward to trying it and ringing the changes with different dried fruit combinations. I will be using oats certified gluten-free then my coeliac child can also enjoy and they are suitable for our vegan friends.

Laura we don't use margarine either, we use butter, lard or oil - mainly virgin rapeseed oil. I will use a silicon baking dish which works beautifully without greasing.

3 long-sleeved t-shirts at 5 coupons each, 15 coupons
3 blouses at 5 coupons each, 15 coupons
1 pair of trousers at 6 coupons
spent for 2023 56 coupons

Please can somebody check my maths, thank you.

All of my purchases were second hand, so I will be taking them off my rolled over coupons total as per my additional rules so I curb the amount of clothes I buy.

I started afresh in Sept, 14 of 15 Pro rata used. 1 to carry over into 2024, unless something untoward happens in the next 5 days

A coeliac child? Oh, they will be able to enjoy making them too- it's such an easy recipe and very adaptable for what you add to it- you could drizzle dark chocolate over to make them sweeter, and I suspect if you try it with stewed apple instead of banana it might also work.... hmm, may have to try that myself now I've thought of it- thankyou for spurring the idea! You'd need to strain the stewed apple a bit, but yes, I think that could be a very tasty variation and probably wouldn't need the maple syrup as the apple would be sweeter...

Yes, I was thinking stewed apple would work, I'm glad you mentioned straining it, because it hadn't dawned on me and if of ended up with a soggy bake.

I've updated my signature to include the spree in early December when we spent a whole twelve pence in actual money, using Nectar double-up vouchers to get free clothing.... but it still costs coupons! I stocked up on four pairs of Sainsbury's knickers that are very well-made and really do properly last, especially if I remember to take them out of the tumble-dryer and let them air-dry in the airing-cupboard (tumble-drying is bad for all clothes but worst of all for synthetic-stretch-lace undies!)... I bought the tartan long-sleeved dress which I then butchered to make a pinafore which is lovely and I'm really keen to make more now. Finally, I bought a pair of shorts-pyjamas which I am wearing as a pair of knickers, and a short-sleeved blouse (cream cotton with a pretty blue stripe)- I've counted those as a blouse and knickers as I think the shorts being shorts makes it a closer match than as pyjamas which suggests long legs. 

So that takes me one coupon over for the first time in a few years! 

Luckily, my Christmas presents have included some "buy yourself something nice to wear" money which I am counting as their coupons, not mine, since if I were able to say, oh I want that one please, they would have bought me the item and wrapped it up for me, so...!
