Hi all, sorry I have been mia due to my Internet being broken but all fixed now.
@PipneyJane, yes of course you need more information. I have a little over 500g2 -
It was what I used for the main colour on the hot water bottle covers. It is very soft and I used 2 strands together but I needed to use some of the other yarn to get it to hold its structure.2

Brilliant piece of upcycling there, @Laura_Elsewhere! And what lovely colours they are, too.

Just back from my wonder through the archives, it’s lethal, good job I tied some red thread to the door before I started reading. The brown wool looks very warm, a friend has knitted herself a sleeping bag using the same colour and it looks so warm and pretty. She uses it instead of a blanket in the evenings when sitting in her lounge, as fuel is precious at the moment.3

@MrsCatz thank you, yes it would make a nice blanket, especially as OH is always cold. I will try the colour against the wall colour1

Hi All
@Liverpool_Anne. I think a crocheted blanket would work well with that yarn. (Crochet because it's faster.)Liverpool_Anne said:It was what I used for the main colour on the hot water bottle covers. It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!
2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge 66 coupons - 39.5 spent.
4 - Thermal Socks from L!dl
4 - 1 pair "combinations" (Merino wool thermal top & leggings)
6 - Ukraine Forever Tartan Ruana wrap
22 - yarn
1.5 - sports bra
2 - leather wallet3 -
I've spent 50p on a week-to-a-view diary in the sales, to record my coupon (and non-coupon) spends. Hopefully having ready-made spaces and a format that I can flip through should solve some issues.
Now all I have to do is a) keep it up to date and b) not loose it.
How long do you give me before one or the other breaks down?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Hmm - I've just spent 7 coupons (and slightly less than £20) online on two items for a dance costume - a bolero top and an "imitation silk" veil - which has made me panic slightly! (Would have been happier parting with the same coupons for a cashmere bolero & a real silk veil - same coupons, better effect, but alas, waaay too warm!) But I've been hunting for things I could make them from for a month and failed to turn anything suitable up, especially as they have to go with items I already have. We're performing in a month, only have a couple of rehearsals booked beforehand and I need to know they'll work. Luckily I already have the fabric for the galabeya etc. for the summer's performance...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6

Oh @thriftwizard I was a belly dancer too for years stopped after I tore a ligament in my leg.3

@PipneyJane, it was because the wool was so soft the hwb covers didn't hold their shape but there were no breaks in the thread. I hear what you are saying about crochet, yes it is much quicker but it seems to use more yarn for the area of fabric produced. I will have a ponder, thanks for the advice4
