@Spoonie_Turtle I thought that at first, lol. But when i clicked on "Your unit rate calculation" and it said "52.38 is chosen to ensure the price is capped at 55p/kWh once VAT is added." This is why i then i was 99% sure the rates did not include VAT lol

So is vat included in those figures ?

These URs are VAT inclusive.1

It never goes above the price cap rate and has the cheapest standing charge around (20p per day). Surely it's got to be better then just being on the standard tariff? These daily 1/2 hourly rates tables don't seem to go over something close to the actual EPG cap.I thought I read in another post - the actual tariff limit at one stage was 100p / kWh - and this section of the pricing explanation seems to verify it. Octopus treating the EPG - as a capped discount - similar to an EPG // price fix interaction ?So a maximum discount by 31.8p+VAT now if market rates higher than (34p EPG + 33.4p discount) c67p - should go above EPG - then EPG from EPG to EPG+33.4p - or market rates when lower. In more expensive periods - like Dec really cold spell (-xC day and night in some regions) - with low wind delivery for a few days - did they go into the maximum discount range - so higher than EPG rates ?Has it ever come close to that descriptions - maximum 100p cap - maximum discount = 66.57p rate ?Edit"Is there any reason - the OP is only posting overnight rates and not day rates ?At one stage during the cold spell - there was an article in The Guardian iirc - saying daily average day ahead peeked at £675 /MWh - 67.5p/kWh - and c6pm - a peak of over £2586 = £2.59/kWh. So possibly - depending on Octupus's buying model - hit the 100p maximumSeeJust trying to see how these might work here. As have known people in USA on wholesale trackers.Texas apparently hit the state wholesale cap - was c$9000 - so $9/kWh in Feb 21.0

On Tracker it went above the EPG for Eastern England 3 times in December (our EPG was 35.06, not sure what exactly it is now). Two of the days it went to 37.149p (35.38+VAT) and once to a little less than that but it's not in my calculator history and I've closed that bill now, can't be bothered to refind it.1
