kicking off my first spend of the year so far!
went into town today and popped into Lidl. I got some skinny crunch, energy drinks and finally managed to get a £1.50 fruit n veg box. It had a mango, 7/8 apples, a pear, 5/6 oranges, 2 bunches of spring onions”, orange pepper, lettuce, loads of baby potatoes, 3 red potatoes, aubergine, a lemon, a lime and a grape fruit. 4 bananas although I think only 1 of those can be saved. Apart from 3 of the bananas the rest of it is absolutely fine, 1 apple has a bruise but I can cut that off. I won’t need much fruit n veg this week now. Tesco is delivering on Thursday. I’m trying to keep that under £70
£246.67 left
my shopping is due this afternoon and I’ve just got my receipt from Tesco. It would have been a bit higher but there’s 3 subs I don’t want.It is slightly bigger than I was planning on but I’ve done a mini stock up on things we use like crisps, cereal bars, biscuits and I’ve also got my husband a selection of tinned soup for his lunch when he wants it. I’ve only got chicken and a big pack of mince on it for dinners. I’ve taken out leftover lamb for dinner tonight, I’ll do a tikka curry, got naans coming for that. The mince I’m batch making a chilli adding in lentils and kidney beans, that will easily do 3 dinners. I’ll freeze 2 lots. Chicken, which I’m going tomorrow will do is 2 meals so freeze the rest for a curry or sweet and sour. I’ve still got 2 joints of pork, 2 joints of beef plus bacon and other bits in my freezer. Next week won’t need to be as high as I continue to use what I’ve got.£162.34 left
£1.60 in Poundland. We visited my sisters and her children. My daughter wanted a drink plus I got some skinny crunch bars as I’ve not tried the rocky road yet
£3 was a Too good to go bag from Costa. I’ve done them in the past when I’ve been up my sisters way. They are lucky to have a few Costas nearby. The one today I’ve never been lucky enough to get. I ended up with a croissant, chocolate twist, 1 chocolate muffin, 1 lemon muffin and a ham n cheese toastie. Maybe not massively money saving but a nice treat.£157.64 left
it was over £60 but something on that was for my daughters birthday and I don’t include that
£98.30 left
2 shops left so needs to be under £50 each to keep myself under my budget. We shall see how it goes:money::rotfl::T8 -

Currently sat at £181.36 / £250
I ordered a TGTG box (£3.09) for tonight. I was a bit disappointed to be honest! Two loaves of bread, two packets of tea cakes, a bag of Plain flour, a bag of paprika peanuts and a bag of sourdough Crisps bite things. Still it's all gone into the freezer for another day.
DH nipped into L!dl this afternoon, forgot to use the app or to get a receipt... he thinks he spent £11 🙄🤣 who knows... so I am putting it at £11 on the dot 🤣

£10.74 on what I've recorded as 'bread, milk, cleaning stuff' last week and £14.26 today on fruit, salad veg, roasting potatoes, marmite, tuna, mayonnaise and this morning's pastry. £133.93 left. Still got a lot of cheese left so had blue cheese pasta and salad for dinner. Tomorrow's plan was egg and home made chips, with carrots and parsnips to use the last of the roasting veg up, but I think I might keep the parsnips back to make parsnip and stilton soup with.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

I've spent slightly more than I should have done at this stage in the month. Hopefully I'll have enough in to last about a fortnight - here's hoping!!10 -
I've still not withdrawn the £200 HKM and I get paid on 27th. The dog food has not run out yet so am still using the last of the cash that is floating about.
I have pulled up my socks when I use paypal that I remember to put the money back into the NWest account it comes from (this is the bill account) where it is linked to.
Yesterday was £3.09 TGTG bag (paypal) and £3.30 for 4 ltrs of milk (paid cash by DH)

Grocery Challenge spent £33.02
£100/ £145 + £12.10/ 30 bulk
£37.67 left in pot plus I have £8 cash
I spent £4.58 on bits plus £8.90 for work food Tuesday lunchtime (some of which was also for Wed in office as well) I had taken food in but I was bored by it Tuesday so ate the HM food Wed in office. I WFH mostly now so interesting to see how much I used to spend (always in supermarkets vs cafes) for lunch even though I did make/take my own food in as well.
Plus £19.54 in Sains on way home (I had a £1.50 off voucher if I spent more than £10 - in my nectar) Some of what I bought last night extra was more treats (none sweet - but nuts, crisps and houmous) though. I have not taken it out the treats budget so my grocery budget for Jan is rapidly shrinking ..
I am liking where people are tracking their annual food budget in their signature so I will start doing that.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
