Well, I'm up to £259.74/£400 after the last couple of days, between the market, the butcher, baker & supermarket, and wondering whether I should "up" my target a bit; so far DD1 plus (or minus) boyfriend have actually been here most of the time, plus we have DS1 & fiancée for 4 nights over next weekend, which will be lovely, but I'll be feeding 7+ for 4 days & maybe 10 or 11 for one meal. That said, there's still plenty of turkey in the freezer - that'll do for one meal at least! I'll keep my target where it is for now & see if I can wing it...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)9

Went to Aldi today. I am becoming a "Supermarket tart!" we have shopped around at 5 different shops this month trying to find the best deals. Dont know if its just me but I still always get a nice surprise when i get to checkput at Aldi. Spent just over £27.00. I think i have all we need for the month except milk, bread and other basics. Feeling confident that i should hit target this month.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Another small spend today as forgot to buy butter yesterday as hadn't realised we hadn't got any in the fridge or freezer! Also needed some more grapes. Total spend of £5.73 as grapes were 25p off on ClubCard price. Hopefully shouldn't need much if anything over the next few days before our holiday.

arrrrghhh! and this is why i should stay HOME. A 'quick trip' to Winn Dixie this morning plus a short stop at Publix brings our bill up to $433.90/$400 for the month. Admittedly, i bought extras of several things, splurged on others that will be cheaper in the long run (ie, sashimi grand ahi for $19.99 a pound v. a poke bowl of maybe 4 ounces of tuna for $17). We are out of coffee and we got 2 at WD but it was then $2 a bag cheaper at Publix so we got 2 extra. David 'asked' for another pot of galbitang so we invested in some short ribs for it...we spent about $50 on short ribs altogether but it will make two pots of soup that would cost $20+ per bowl in a Korean restaurant). I am intentionally overcooking some things so I can freeze some for ds to eat when he arrives.
I bought..ahem...quite a bit of meat--a large package of chicken drums, 2 big packs of ground chuck (both things we were low on), short ribs and oxtail (anybody remember when they couldn't GIVE oxtail away??). I actually bought 4 bags of the frozen ahi--$20 a pound is a much better price than the $35 we paid in Massachusetts for sashimi grade. So...Um...yeah.
Looks like I'll be hitting close to $600 this month after all. *sigh*

Spends today of £43.29 for shopping bits for the next week plus a bit of topping up of fresh stuff, stores and staples. I don’t need to do this at the moment, there are things in, but I’m only talking a couple of tins here and there anyway. Oh and dried chickpeas since they’re now 60p a can in Mr T.I asked my husband to go to Aldi for the things yesterday but on account of needing DF milk (with added vits and mins) for my daughter and nearly being out of frozen berries (2kg bag of imperfect ones from Mr T) I told him not to and said I’d go to Mr Ts today. Well I forgot the frozen fruit and got home to find 3 cartons of soya milk hidden away in another cupboard courtesy of my daughter rearranging the kitchen.Anyway, that’s £110.61/150 so far I think!Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Have had a super busy week but I did my food spends last weekend and a treat of a chippy tea tonight out of the food budget. It was deserved as the weather have made my days in work much longer with hour and half traffic each way when it should only take 35 minutes. Ugh. Total spends were £39.33.
Fully stocked up. Might need milk this weekend but that's it til the following weekend I'd say.New total spends 82.30/100

Grocery Challenge spent £5.30 I am still in Dec spend mode it seems
£105.40/ £145 + £12.10/ 30
£5.30 in Tsco as had ran out of eggs and my new bread maker is coming along with the desk tomorrow so I need to try it.. Plus some apples and Tsco brand crunchy crisps and some water. I am still off all sweets, cakes, biscuits, no dairy and no alcohol ... so I am craving carbs and eating a lot of fresh fruit.
I made a glorious soup - chicken stock in my pressure cooker from my FR Corn fed bird and then made up a chicken and veg soup - threw loads of veg in and a muffin size of coconut milk - following someones suggestion on here I now open a tin - use a bit then freeze the rest in a muffin tray so I use just a small amount - a whole can is pretty fattening and gets expensive too.
I had it for 2 meals today, froze some and also have loads for tomorrow.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
