Also currently on budget had good shop at Tscos used a voucher for £7 off £50 was worried would struggle but decided to use the scan and shop which worked perfectly also had to go in HB very low on cleaning bits so combined spend of £56.39 added to £71.35 spent already total £127.74 leaving £122.26 out of £250 so on paper should be a breeze ( hopefully not jinxed myself now)Frugal challenge 2025

Managed to incorporate Aldi shop with taking neighbour to clinic and dropping DH at bowls so saved on petrol. Passed a book my sister gave me onto a neighbour. Warned her that it made me cry! 😂. Magazine with knitting pattern in to another neighbour. (I get this free through lloyds bank) Have noticed the Tesco points go up quicker since changing to a tesco credit card. Set myself a January challenge to only buy needs not wants! Have only spent £127.00 on food shopping by checking prices on line first and buying regular things at different supermarkets when they are on offer. I am doing a big declutter and uncovering craft items that I had forgotten I had. Trying not to buy new before I have cleared a few boxes of what I already have. The extra activity has already helped me lose the 2lb that I put on at Christmas. The outcome is that the house is clearer and cleaner, I can find things more easily therfore dont rush out to buy more of something without checking first and I have spent less by being more disciplined. 2023 has started well for me. 🤞It lasts.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Well the good news is that we managed a full no spend week, after our last shop on Sunday. We have run out of some things (eggs/bananas) but nothing we can’t live without. I did go to our local market to buy some eggs from a local farm seller, but she appears to have closed the stall, so that was a bit sad.
Just making a quick veg soup for lunch, from the Olio mix veg bag and parsley that I picked up yesterday, and just snacking on the fruit platter whilst I type this. Definitely enjoying free food!
Grocery money for the week has been collected, current kitty is £124.71p. No G0usto this week, so I’m pretty confident I can stay within the new £100 budget.
Have a great day everyoneDebt Free Journey started 21.05.20178 -
Currently up to £100/3000 general grocery spend and £0/£600 bulk buy fund. Hopefully it should only be another £20 max this week as I've planned most of the main meals from what we already have in but we'll need some fruit and a couple of other bits tomorrowDNF: £708.92/£1000

Tsco and Ald! For me today... annddd the budget is officially blown!
I popped into Tsco for the club card offers, and spent just under £16, and did get a few extras that weren't on the list (meat free bacon x 2 and hashbrowns) I need to be stricter! And then the rest of the shopping was from Ald!
I was rather surprised to find it a bit more expensive than L!dl. I have seen them advertised that they are the cheapest supermarket in the UK... This wasn't my experience.... however they did have the Fl0r@ plant based butter for £1 in so I grabbed 8 sticks... I also grabbed some Oats (70p) and golden syrup (£1.15) as these ARE cheaper than l!dl... the rest, however wasn't.
I have a meal plan for the rest of the month and think we will be alright.
So our total for January is...To date £256.87/£250

Another weekly shop done at £37 at Te$c0.
My biggest outlays are gluten free bread products. I’m used to having crumpets for breakfast every morning, but each pack of 4 gluten free crumpets is £2.20.
Before the break up, I’d started to make a weekly batch of gluten free scotch pancakes to have for breakfast instead, and of course it was considerably cheaper. But since I’m staying with a friend for now, it’s not so easy to cook/bake, and I also don’t have the energy - it’s far less mental effort to just buy readymade.Currently spent £117.50 / £200

Another £25.38 spent across four different shops - pain au choc from the post office/corner shop, coffee in Whittards (slight extravagance but I wanted to try something new) french stick, honey and tomatoes in Ldl, wholemeal bread, tea, wine, apples, pesto, milk and toilet rolls in JS. Used up the last of the parsnips, sugar snap peas and stilton in soup.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

Well done @Soontobeoap - great to hear that 2023 has started so well for you.
we've done a Lidl shop this week with a list carefully based on our meal plan for the next 7 days. We still have a few Christmassy treats - quality street, crisps and white wine which I am diligently using up 😋
We are trying a few new recipes too which is fun - fish tacos tonight and a version of a dish from our favourite restaurant later in the week - Sussex Smokey - smoked haddock in a cheesy sauce which we will have with spinach and baby potatoes.

Food spend currently sat at £308.94 v. budget of £500.I have only one more shop to get in before payday so we should easily achieve target, even the revised one without the £24 off we had from Mr S.
Quite enjoying this feeling of eating down stocks, giving the supermarkets less of my hard earned ££, etc. Hubby wants to make a batch next weekend - we should have space in the freezer by then and his batch cook will use one of the tubs of Christmas chicken stock, so that will make an additional gap for him to fit his chicken fricasse into.
I am starting to think about what our target should be next month …..
