Good luck with the selling. I still wonder about cancelling my vet monthly subscription but haven’t done the maths.

Sounds like some great wins there.

    Good luck with the selling.

  • Thanks L and SH

I genuinely feel like we're more focused than we've been in the past, really keen to get saving and get ourselves more secure.  I need to update my signature, but I'll wait until after pay day as it will need updating again then anyway!
We've been doing well with paying of PP, it's down to £500 now (after Feb pay), so will be gone end of March.  We've kept Next empty and we've paid for 2 big school trips without having to use credit or dip into EF (which is now at £500)

  • All going ok financially, keeping to budget.
DH found out what his bonus will be and it's pretty decent, it will clear most remaining debt (exc. car) and top up the emergency fund to £1k.  Not sure if it will be in March or April pay yet... hopefully March.
From there we'll continue to pay off car and then start our 3-6 month saving pot, but the bonus is a welcome boost.

  • Thanks SH, Crunchy and L
It will be nice to clear most things (again!)... we've worked out it will clear PP, CC and top up EF to £1k.  We're then going to set aside the remainder for what we need for our holidays this year (we've been saving monthly, but this will fill the pot in advance) and set aside £1k for Xmas.
This will leave £1k, so we're going to put £250 into each of our personal accounts and buy a piece of furniture that we've been eying up.  We probably save that final grand, but we're doing the right things with the majority of it and need (want) to do a bit of fun stuff too :)  He reckons he'll get it in March pay.

That sounds like a good compromise. Enjoy the new furniture.
