Hi I hope you don’t mind me popping in. Last year we paid off our mortgage thanks to FIL and MIL (who is no longer with us) and this freed up money monthly we used to pay off debt so ended 2022 debt free 🎉🎉
so technically we have a lot of money spare which I’m sure as you all know can be easily frittered away in a household if 5 plus pets.
with no debt I feel like my financial focus could quite easily slip this year so we have set up a few savings plans. Hubby has a help to save account, we have a savings account each with 5% upto a certain amount and an account which is technically savings but short term so used if something comes along and I haven’t enough in spends account which I have an amount go to each month and my double up round ups goes to it.
so I’m thinking for this challenge I might round down the spends account and send to empty account for a particular savings item….I’ve got my eye on wanting a new front door this year so maybe that? Not sure I’ll do every day tbh but maybe at least once a week and see how I get on maybe?5 -

Happy New Year all, I haven’t been on here for such a long time, but lbm and new year, new me! I woul love to rejoin this challenge. I haven’t actually worked out what I owe yet, I had been doing better but dd 21st and Christmas and I have added to existing cc for first time in a while. Slippery slip as I know from experience and wasn’t debt free before! Time to focus and this wonderful payment a day seems like a good positive way to start. £40 to next for me today 😁3
