Wanting to replace 16 year old boiler
Comments

We’ve just used our local plumber to replace our boiler. We bought the Baxi combi on his advice, with all fittings including adapter kit to vent through the roof, for £900, and the plumber charged use £300 to fit it. Gas Safe approved and 5 year guarantee. We would have gone for the slightly more expensive 10 year option but we will be selling the house in the next year.0

I've had a couple of BOXT Worcester Bosch installs and am very happy. On the first one they paid for two fitters for an extra day and for some VERY long runs of 28mm gas supply pipe at no extra charge to fix a supply pressure issue. I know this is an extreme case but it does really illustrate their fixed price deal is real.
These are relatively simple installs they offer from a control perspective. If you want weather compensation controls, flow temp optimisation etc it might not be for you.
As an aside that boiler did have an early fault in the first year. Some issue with the gas control valve. Worcester diagnosed it over the phone and arrived the next day and replaced it.

but UK Heating Ltd. is not the same entity as UK Heating (Jersey) Ltd. even if you say it is a Jersey company. If you got it right in the first place it couldn't be misinterpreted (which I didn't anyway).The_Green_Hornet said:
You guess right as I said UK Heating Ltd, a newly incorporated Jersey company.BUFF said:
According to the confirmation statement Robert Bosch still had a sizable no. of shares as at 10/11/22.The_Green_Hornet said:
If you look at the link I provided you will see that Robert Bosch UK holdings ceased having a significant control on 15 December 2021.BUFF said:
Robert Bosch (WB's parent co.) do have a substantial investment in Boxt.The_Green_Hornet said:I did an online quote at Boxt and it came out £500 more expensive than my local installer for the same boiler specification but then they are an added layer to the installation process so it is to be expected I suppose.
They certainly aren't owned by Worcester Bosch.

Op if you are fitting a WB boiler as long as they offer the features that you want you are better off fitting WB controls rather than Hive.
1) you will get a longer warranty (as long as the boiler - potentially up to 12 years)
2) they will be more efficient . Hive won't be able to modulate the boiler as well as the WB controls - WB use a proprietary communications protocol.
In their most up-to-date accounts (also in the link) UK Heating Limited, a newly incorporated Jersey company established by Brookfield Asset Management, have acquired a majority stake. BOXT is now a subsidiary of UK Heating Limited.
UK Heating Limited appears to have it's registered office in Leicestershire.

I guess that you mean UK Heating (Jersey) Limited.
.
Why not read the information from the link provided. Saves any misinterpretation on your part.
I did which is how I know that Robert Bosch still had an investment in Boxt as of 10/11/22.0
