Evri is not the courier from hell

I don't know what we have done right in our small town but every Evri parcel that's sent to us arrives on time, in great condition and is delivered with a smile.

Each time I see a terrible comment I wince because what is going wrong with the rest of the country? Are we, in our little hamlet, living in a bubble, and if so, why so?

Yesterday I received two items ordered from different retailers on different days that someone at Evri had the common sense to combine into one delivery and bring to us before the date they'd said it would be here.

I do really want to award them a gold star for the fabulous service we receive. But I'm very concerned about the bad service most others appear to receive.

If you are unhappy you can contact them in writing at -  Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.

You can, apparently, also contact them via Facebook or Instagram. Not sure if they're active on Twitter yet but complaints about them are! No compliments unfortunately . . .

But we have always had an excellent service and so I have to speak up about it.

I have one parcel that was due to be delivered yesterday by Evri but wasn't and today there is no update at all, just says there has been a delay.  You cannot speak to a person at all at present. So they are not all good.

TBH I have no idea if evri is better or worse than other couriers. I am more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in this matter.

The main problem I have with evri is that if you need to contact them it is pretty much impossible. I mean *** really *** impossible.

Ebro Ebro drivers are self employed so the service you get depends on the driver. Where I used to live delivery would take up to 10 days. Delivery was when he had collected a few deliveries for the same area. My current area has excellent service.

Evri use self-employed people who choose their own working hours. That means you might get one of your neighbours delivering at times people are least likely to be out. Alternatively, you may get a local mum attempting to make a delivery during the hours their child is at school and if you're never home between 9 and 3 on weekdays then your parcel will get delivered to someone else or returned.

All I can say is my Evri (ex Hermes) delivery driver is absolutely excellent.
    On time and polite.
Not everybody  has the same experience.
But don't trash/bash the whole company because you personally have had a bad experience.

But frankly it doesn't matter to me how Evri perform in other parts of the country, it is only the local driver that we see and are affected by. It's a failure of the company if they employ people who don't/can't perform as needed - if it's not possible to do the job asked because of too many parcels or too low a fee per parcel (which has led to a conveyor belt of driver in the last few years), then it is still the company's responsibility.

Our driver is a carer for their partner, and routinely stops work for a number of days to care for them. I sympathise as someone who also cares for their chronically ill wife, does all the school runs, and still has to run a company and fit in 50 hrs work each week - but our driver is always behind and it's getting worse. Have been waiting 4 weeks now for one parcel for Christmas, ended up cancelling it yesterday as the driver admitted that he wasn't working again until the New Year now!!! Too stressful a time, he said...

I'm happy with how Evri performs in my area.
If I can't get delivery by Royal Mail, it's my 2nd choice.

This thread is about Evri not being the courier from Hell for everybody.
You clearly have an issue with Evri and I can understand why.
The driver clearly cannot perform his job for personal reasons.
    Evri should sort that out.
But even if they do, it won't change my opinion that Evri is not the courier from Hell.
Because I don't have a problem with them anyway.
  • Our evri delivery driver is very good but as my parcel is "on hold" or lost down the line I still am waiting.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
