Chazzers in NYC are expensive and the merchandise is not all that. Time here is better spent enjoying the environment rather than shopping.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.4 -
Thanks for the tip @Cherryfudge. It’s more of a rent tbf. If I were any kind of seamstress I would raise the frill over the hole but not sure I cba’d! It seems like a lot of work for £4! The dress is all the same blue chambray fabric.I popped out today to post a bay of E charity sale and popped into CR. Got 2 books and a BNIB body shop hand cream and nail file set in almond - £4 spent. Then Oxfam had a lovely mirrored etched dragonfly coat hook for £1.99. I do love a dragonfly.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings6

Sorry to hear about your disappointing discovery @Coxy11 although I did enjoy your OH's suggestions. Would it be worth putting it online as a project for someone else to tackle?
I visited my favourite BHF shop earlier this week and managed this rather lovely haul of kitchen bits and bobs (not the Cointreau) which I'm firmly persuaded will all come in handy some day! The tin even has a cookbook included too.8 -
I've now been to Shrewsbury - and yes, a phenomenal amount of charity shops as well as a serious Tudor presence. In Shropshire Cat Rescue I got some George denim leggings and somewhere else (I don't remember) I bought yarn.
Today was Thirsk Car Boot sale and everything I bought was 50p or £1, apart from a serving spoon for 20p and a pack of napkins that was included for free when I bought a book. Other items were three cookery books (including a hardback), a selection of old crochet and knitting implements, a tin for cream crackers, a pair of shorts, a computer keyboard (which works!) and three Ikea magazine racks at 50p each. One of the cookery books will be a gift - it's like new and just the sort of thing the person I have in mind seems to go for.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Love the kitchen finds but have drawn the line at the pastry lattice maker before, deciding that a knife will do.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

@Rosa_Damascena I actually bought the Cointreau to make Nigella's No-Churn Margarita Ice Cream but seeing as the recipe calls for a very small amount I don't see why I shouldn't make myself a cocktail to drink at the same time! Yum,Yum

Cointreau is very nice glugged into black coffee. Works well poured over ice cream too. YumI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.5

You can all have my share of the Cointreau! Horrid stuff in my opinion!!! I do like Kalhua though......or Tia Maria....
@Cherryfudge
any particular shops in Shrewsbury you'd recommend?? I've got a conference up that way in October and am taking the OH along and he might need to entertain himself by looking at scarves for me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
