@Brie Ah yes - I have some of that cutlery and it's definitely worse for dishwashing! I had assumed people were reluctant to use the dishwasher because it can dull surfaces. I know someone who won't put plastic in it either and I can see why - any hint of tomato and it seems to turn orange.
@Floss, what a lovely lot of things! A very summery wardrobe by the sound of it. I saw you mentioned you are starting chemo, is this coming up soon? I'm sure everyone will be cheering you on, please keep us updated.
I've been to Thirsk car boot sale and the most expensive item was £5 for a toy that I can see my grand daughter playing with quite a bit. Other than that everything was seriously cheap:
2 velvet cushion covers 50p for both (damaged around the seams but it's the velvet I wanted)
2 tomato plants £1 for both
Aloe vera plant 50p
2 picture frames £1 for both
cookery book 20p
notepad 20p
Easter egg mould 10p
pack of car blanks with envelopes 10p
roll of sticky labels 10p.
I make that £3.70 spent, with sunshine and a few nice chats thrown in (and a very tolerant husband).
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I had a marvellous day at the chazzers yesterday - didn't waking up in the morning planning to go, but I was passing by anyway and the magnetic pull was just too much to bear!
Chaz 1: lots of odds and sods: 2 pairs of replacement sunglasses, and executive toy, a glass carafe (which I plan to use as a vase for sunflowers), an empty Neal's Yard bottle which I will add a pump to, a Wilko large flip comb, and best of all, a small set of display shelves that will be perfect for my hallway. This really must have been fate, I have been looking online for brand new ones for ages without success! Came to £7.50 in total.
Chaz 2: a Per Una blouse (minus the cami), 2 scarves, a small melamine tray to add to the collection, a beautiful photo frame for my hallway and a boxed set of pewter spreaders, for a total of £5. The spreaders alone are worth over £20 on Amazon:
Chaz 3: I didn't expect to buy from here, but bought 2 lots of coasters for £1 each, and 2 hardbacks for £2 each. I wouldn't normally spend so much on books but these were unusual and I knew I wasn't going to come across them again in a hurry, so I bit the bullet and paid up.
Eta: I lie, now I have found my shelves I can see them on Amazon, retailing at £9.20:No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -

Rosa, did you buy the shelves in the Air ambulance shop in Barrowford?

Two dresses both just below my knees:
Black with white polka dots in a floaty material with a lining down to the knee but not in the sleeves which are between elbow and wrist length and shirred £4
Next William Morris Golden Lily pattern in light blue, gold and pink colours. Also with shirred cuffs that end at the elbow £5
Both are a great length for me: modest and age appropriate without swamping my shortness.
A butter soft dark turquoise/jade leather small cross body bag £2.25
and a silver hard specs case £1 (always handy for various readers and sunnies)5 -
