I read that Stacey Solomon was at a boot sale at Billericay over the bank holiday weekend! Not too far from me, lol.
I bought two skirts in Southend the other week, one denim and one khaki. About £10 for both. It was slim pickings. Some of the shops had signs up saying they need donations.5 -

A second hand ring caught my eye in a local jewellers last weekend - stunning. What took the shine off was not knowing the provenance. Ifs its stolen goods, I'd rather have no part in its karmic cycle. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

There were loads of tools at the car boot on Sunday - one guy had about 30 cordless drills laid out on a tarp - all still dirty - the mind boggles where they came from.
I popped out to post a Bay of E parcel charity sale today and popped into PDSA. They had a Whittards hand-painted mug for £1.29 so I grabbed that to list for my charity fundraising. Quite collectable so hoping it'll get me a little bit of profit.

Some years ago we got sent a heavy parcel which unpacked to an assortment of pocket knives & multitools that had been languishing in a crate in a South African airport security. We do not & never have dealt in knives (although a bayonet along with a rifle has always seemed OK) and so after we'd picked out tools we could sensibly rehome, we took the rest to the tip & handed them to the staff. Our Scout pack did rather well out of that. I can't think of any charity shop that could have managed them.
@Rosa_Damascena, when I see a ring I like, I tend to ask the supplier about its provenance & their willingness to talk is my only yardstick for karma. (Also if they've bothered to check the hallmarks &/or weigh it. Vermin tend to know the scrap metal value to the penny, the legit have a slightly fuzzier price band as they know the spot fluctuations & anyway Have More Costs)4 -
Was the knife parcel not meant for you @DigForVictory?I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.4

I've bought knives from charity shops in the past but you need to ask for them as they won't have them openly available. Last time I was looking for some solid but not grand type to use in the garden as I hadn't been able to find anything to reach deep to loosen dandelion roots or to cut ivy thickly growing into brick work. I was given a thorough once over to ensure I wasn't completely bonkers and then was sold 2 x 10 inch blade knives for £1.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
