I read that Stacey Solomon was at a boot sale at Billericay over the bank holiday weekend! Not too far from me, lol.

I bought two skirts in Southend the other week, one denim and one khaki. About £10 for both. It was slim pickings. Some of the shops had signs up saying they need donations.
She was - I wondered if it was Dunton, that great repository for all the proceeds of theft in South Essex.

A second hand ring caught my eye in a local jewellers last weekend - stunning. What took the shine off was not knowing the provenance. Ifs its stolen goods, I'd rather have no part in its karmic cycle.

Some years ago we got sent a heavy parcel which unpacked to an assortment of pocket knives & multitools that had been languishing in a crate in a South African airport security. We do not & never have dealt in knives (although a bayonet along with a rifle has always seemed OK) and so after we'd picked out tools we could sensibly rehome, we took the rest to the tip & handed them to the staff.  Our Scout pack did rather well out of that. I can't think of any charity shop that could have managed them.

@Rosa_Damascena, when I see a ring I like, I tend to ask the supplier about its provenance & their willingness to talk is my only yardstick for karma. (Also if they've bothered to check the hallmarks &/or weigh it. Vermin tend to know the scrap metal value to the penny, the legit have a slightly fuzzier price band as they know the spot fluctuations & anyway Have More Costs)

Was the knife parcel not meant for you @DigForVictory
I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.

A couple of years ago I was a mad Converse addict and I have about 12 pairs - now I can't wear them due to plantar fasciitis, as they have very little arch support. I will be offering first pick to my DiL and then my niece before what's left go to the chazzer.
Same but I got insoles for them to provide arch support so I can wear converse and vans.

Thanks for that about the arch support. Converse are now off my lookout list. Any thing similar that would act as a replacement? Keep safe everyone,
You can buy orthotic insoles to provide arch support in flat shoes.

I tried that but I have very peculiar feet & Converse don't fit me properly with an orthotic instead of the insole.

I was wrong, it was LazyBones in Barleylands. There is also one near Leigh-on-Sea station, which is open tomorrow: https://lazybonesuk.rocketspark.co.uk/page/leigh-on-sea-boot-sale/ .
