Well Banbury was sweltering but I managed to snap up some jolly good bargains and have five shops to report on. However the heat has left me so tired that I'm going to leave typing out the details until tomorrow morning when it will hopefully be cooler.
What I am considering is whether to start a new thread specifically for us to add details about the shops to be found in particular towns and cities which would mean we wouldn't have to rely on the search function which doesn't seem to work particularly well on here. What do others think?10 -
@Rosa_Damascena I tend to be a bit disappointed by the shops in St Albans however, as a general rule, the local charities tend to be better supported, especially the hospice ones.If you’ve got time drop into the museum/info centre/art gallery on St Peter’s Street. It’s the big white building looking up the street. They also have a cafe there with seating in the old court room and you can stand in the dock.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

It sounds a useful idea, @goldfinches. There would be too many for a sticky so a separate thread could be useful.
Like @Miro, I was at Bedale this morning. It was a very good day for clothes shopping! I bought six items for £1 each. Having tried them on, I've donated three, but I'm keeping a Gap sundress, a Boden linen top and a Next top. I've also bought three books for the grand total of £1.70: two to help me with work skills and a book on Greek cookery.
We didn't brave the heat in Thirsk this afternoon - that field is hot enough on an ordinary afternoon let alone the hottest day of the year!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Three dresses, avg price £9 each, from Monsoon, White Stuff & Pepperberry and a brand new with tags, rose gold leather cross body bag also £9. RRP for the bag was £50. I do like a sparkly cross body bag, I already have a silver one. Also picked up a new to me Leitz hole punch for £2. My current hole punch is on its last legs.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Lovely set of finds, @Coxy11! I'm sure they'll do well for your fundraising. Make sure you get plenty of fluids if you're still travelling!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Did toddle off to the Thirsk car boot yesterday aftie….swelteringly hot! Started out well by finding the perfect picture frame for a recently completed and oddly sized tapestry for £2. Then bought a cane side table with glass top for £8 which turned out to be too tall so will have to be rehomed. Then, rather rashly, I bought a Frister Rossmann overlocking machine for £20 even though the seller described a fault with it. The Bloke insisted he could fix it….turns out he can’t so now have the dilemma of investing more in getting it fixed properly or just writing it off. Now in a sulk with The Bloke! 🙄8
