I tried The Cornerstone for some winter clothes, but wasn't very successful. I saw a men's jumper that looked warm but it looked like it would pick up hair and we have three pets. I saw a grey men's zip up hoodie, but that didn't feel like very warm material.
In the end I got a brown handbag (David Jones) a Next red jumper to wear around the house over my thermal tops and a black Papaya summer dress. Also a teddy for my dog to play with. The bag was £3 and the rest were £1 so quite cheap at £6.
I also wanted to get two of my maxi dresses altered to be knee length but the place I tried was only doing wedding dresses at the moment so I have to try somewhere else.9 -

I ventured out to some local chazzers this afternoon - was hoping to catch a particular one open as I have only seen it from the outside, only to find it doesn't exist any more.
Chaz #1 - there were 3 books that I would have been quite happy to have taken, but for the price. £2 for a paperback and £4 for a hardback really is too much! So I moved on.
Chaz #2 - A linen short-sleeved blouse and skirt combo, a Per Una and this Roman bolero BNWT. All of which were half price so cost £5 in total.
Chaz #3 - a long evening dress that did not look far off the picture below for £2, a Florence & Fred (Tesco) blouse for £1, 4 scarves at £1 each, and 4 good books for £1, far more my budget
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

@Rosa_Damascena - I really liked the bolero and agree with @Floss that the dress is delightful.
I walked 7.55 km with friends yesterday and am really paying for it today with all my joints feeling particularly stiff this morning so incentivised myself to get moving this afternoon with a visit to a charity shop I haven't been to since last year. I was rewarded with a 18cm Alan Silverwood flan tin for £1.50, a US 1/8 th size sheet pan £2.50, a pudding bowl £2.50, a Persephone imprint Dorothy Whipple novel £5, an interesting book about historical timelines £10 and an Australian Women's Weekly Vegetarian Cooking £1.50.
Then on the way home I stopped at the Oxfam bookshop and bought another Australian Women's Weekly veggie cookbook for £3, this one was published in 2016 and the other one in 1995 so the recipes and ingredients are very different. I also found an Andrea Camilleri novel and one of the British Library Crime Classics series, they were also £3 each. Here they all are.
I'm astonished at the low price of the Silverwood tin because even though it isn't in pristine condition a new one would cost £16.45 so I'm blessing my particular chazza fairy."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

@goldfinches I’ve read Mystery in White! I saved it for a Christmas read a few years ago.I’m slowly working my way through all the crime classics that were published in the series but trying to find them in the Chazzas. I’ve just finished Death of a Bookseller which was definitely an oddity.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@goldfinches - "The Timeliness of Everything" is just my sort of thing but there is no way I could have parted with £10 for it!
I'm not one for crime but Death at Sea has good reviews (I Googled it, incorrectly thinking it was the book written by the optician of Lampadusa, which I read some time ago).
I took pics of the 3 books I wanted and have now P'Inned them for future reference. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
